"Son," Silas Otong said and slapped Casmir on the back, grinning widely as only men could when staring at a beautiful woman. And through the mingling crowd, they both stared at Louisa. "You did really well," his father said in a blatantly admiring tone.
Casmir frowned at his father's tone and promptly turned to look at him, "Dad, that's my woman," he grumbled.
"A very fine woman, Casmir, you need to get used to people staring," he said and nodded to a couple other well dressed gentlemen definitely staring at her.
Casmir sighed and shook his head as his father chuckled. He liked this new camaraderie with his old man, but, for the life of him, he couldn't stop staring at her.
