The movie, a historical one, took three hours to complete. At a few minutes past eleven am, Jim sent his daughters upstairs to finish any outstanding homeworks they might have had from school, Princess went grudgingly. Mercy remained on the soft carpet while Jim ejected the movie from the VCR and slotted in a foreign musical, he joined her on the rug but at a safe distance.
Mercy sat up, crossed her leg and instinctively asked a question she had been itching to ask all morning, since she'd woken up and realized it was a Sunday. "Do you go to church regularly?" Mercy asked innocently.
Jim was surprised at the sudden question. "We...we do," he stammered in reply. There was a moment's pause, then Jim decided to ask his own question. "I'm guessing you are one of those people that don't believe in attending other people's churches?"
