Chunhee felt the familiar cold and dreadful feeling that pierced through his entire system. He looked up at confirmed it – it was Yujin, of course, who said those words. Even at this time and era, Yujin still had that air of arrogance around him, always ordering people everywhere, always using his power to abuse people! But what was there to not expect? He was always at the top in every life. He always held some power and even in this life, as a student, he already had this much influence and authority over the other students!
To be able to face such a powerful antagonist, how exactly could he – Chunhee – the hero, would be able to win this game? Just like an ant trying to face a lion, wouldn't it only feel a tickle if he tried doing a punch or a kick? Never mind giving this guy a kick, he might slip and fall face flat on the floor before his foot even touched that guy's handsome face.
Curse that handsomeness!
Everyone did leave as the student council president instructed. All the while Chunhee remained silent on the side, his internal monologues stopping briefly as he noticed a simple glance he received from the scholar when he passed by. At that particular moment, Chunhee and Minjoon's eyes met. Chunhee couldn't help but stare at him. Now that he had a better and closer look on him, Chunhee noticed something different.
This student… Why did his face seem a little familiar…? Chunhee couldn't explain why but those eyes seemed to be unfamiliar and familiar to him both at the same time. Did that the original sixth Chunhee and that scholar meet before?
His thoughts came to a halt and he was immediately pulled back to the present as the door closed and a voice was heard.
"I don't pry over people's personal lifestyles. However, if that person's behavior causes more trouble for the school and for other people's reputation and name… I won't hesitate to do something," Yujin said, his eyes devoid of any warmth as he stared at Chunhee.
Chunhee looked away. Of course, it had to be that incident, wasn't it? The rumors about Chunhee being a two-faced spoiled rich kid and the possibility that he would become a bully sooner or later – all of it quickly spread out like wildfire. In the end, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart and grit his teeth. Well, whatever, let's just pretend for now. Anyway, his reputation wasn't part of his priorities in this life.
"I-I'm sorry…" Chunhee mumbled like a shy guy while facing his crush.
"Do you even know what you are sorry for?" Yujin asked. Then he took a step closer to Chunhee, sizing him up and down. He had always been a few inches taller than Chunhee even from when they were younger. And now that they had come face to face and with this small distance, the different became all the more evident.
With a more serious and clearly upset tone, Yujin said, "Han Chunhee, I would advise you now as someone who had known you for years. Watch your behavior if you don't want to be spelled."
"S-Spelled…?" Chunhee's eyes went wide and his face paled. Did Yujin really just say Chunhee would get spelled just because – just because of a spilled juice?! Heck, that was an accident! And him not helping that student from back then was only for Yujin to see his ugly side and hate him! Chunhee froze. Suddenly, a huge light bulb popped out on top of his head.
That was it, he thought. If Chunhee was to be spelled or kicked out of this school, wouldn't it mean he would be out of Yujin's sight and vice versa?
They wouldn't have to see each other at all. Additionally, if he dirtied his reputation enough to get spelled, Yujin would surely hate him for it. He would loathe Chunhee and never think or consider, of marrying him ever, thus, breaking off their engagement. This…. This should be it, right?
How come Chunhee didn't think of this plan earlier? This was what he needed the most after all – to avoid Yujin at all cost so their romance would not progress!
"Watch what you do, whether it is inside or outside the school premises," Yujin said once more, seemingly upset as he noticed Chunhee's attention drifting away.
Chunhee quickly pulled out an innocent face. "I understand. I won't do it again…" Then he smiled, the usual cheerful and shy smile the sixth Chunhee used when facing Yujin.
Before Chunhee left the student council room, he heard Yujin calling him once more. All his enthusiasm about his plans dropped the moment he heard Yujin's next words.
"My parents will be meeting your parents for the engagement party. Don't do anything embarrassing." With that, Yujin passed by Chunhee, leaving him first with an air of freezing winter surrounding his entire being.
Chunhee felt his heart drop. He didn't know why but the moment he heard that one word, his mind seemed to have frozen and he wasn't able to think further before he moved, his body turning around as he reached out – reached Yujin.
Yujin stopped, eyes glancing down to his sleeve that Chunhee had suddenly gripped.
