Just like a movie or a fantasy novel
Xiaofan couldn't believe her ears, that was the name she had heard the lady in her vision called the bird.
"What did you say the bird's name was again?", the girl asked to confirm she was not daydreaming.
Yi Chen took the book from the girl, he turned to a page and pointed to the image of a big owl that look exactly like the baby owl in Xiaofan's room, the same owl she had seen in her vision.
It is starting to make sense now.
"This bird right here looks a lot like the baby bird in here and you can not deny that... it is said on this page that this bird is a magical and rare type of bird... they have other features which were not indicated in here," he said and looked at the bird who had its eyes shut, "I wonder where Lee got you from..." he added.
Xiaofan's eyes didn't leave the image of the owl drawn in the book, she listened carefully as the boy continued.
"It has an owner back in 1901 and her name was... wait" he searched through the book and shortly he found it, "right... Peizhi. She was the owner of this bird and it is written here that the bird chooses who they want as their owner and they would stick with them forever... but unfortunately, Dai Yu the mysterious bird didn't live long, it died in 1903, the reason for the death still unknown".
Xiaofan suddenly let out a strange smile, she shook her head in disbelief.
Why does this ancient story match her vision? She rose and walked to her window, looking outside at the flowers dancing to the rhythm of the soft breeze.
"Embrace it.... it is your destiny"
Xiaofan remembered the words of the lady in her vision.
"But why me!!!" she exclaimed.
Yi Chen stood up and hurry to the girl, "keep it down... do you want to get caught...." he said as they both stared at the bird.
"If I am correct, this bird either reincarnated and had found its new owner.." he said and looked at Xiaofan, "or it is just a coincidence, it could be a normal bird but let us be honest, this bird is very strange and it has shown us so many reasons to believe it is not just some kind of bird" Yi Chen added.
"Stop!"
Yi Chen got startled, he turned his face to Xiaofan who had just shut him up.
"I do not want believe this bird is the Dai Yu from the past and I do not care, why would some ancient bird come to me out of billions of people in the world, where did you get that ridiculous book", she angrily said.
The boy knew Xiaofan was panicking, anyone would panic at the extraordinary thing going on, and he wanted to be a caring friend to her.
Yi Chen held her hand and smiled, "I believe you" he responded and immediately saw her eyes on him, "yes I believe you okay? that book is ridiculous and this bird is just a bird that is lost... and it probably just likes us that is why it is been around" he said and let out a giggle.
Even though she was trying hard to not believe the truth, Xiaofan found his words calming.

The woman was seen entering a warehouse, she instantly saw the other women sitting around the table, even though she was late, they greeted her casually.
She smiled and sit gently, putting her bag gently on the table.
"Hold on, what smell is that? who chooses this location?" she said knowing who did.
Suzy's mother who has been frowning ever since the woman got in, shook her head and responded.
"Why does everything apart from yours always different Susan(Mrs. Ji)? this is Jin Li's warehouse and it is where we all picked for our meeting so what is the problem, Mrs. Ji...".
Jin Li saw eyes on her, she let out a chuckle. "No, it is okay... Susan can always say her mind... I am cool with it" the woman said.
Suzy's mother shook her head in disappointment, "are you all going to keep quiet? really? we all know how Susan acts all bossy to everyone in here, aren't we supposed to be friends?", the woman said angrily.
There was silence in the room as everyone decided to keep quiet, not in support of Suzy's mother.
She hit the table and rose.
"I will never forgive you Susan, for saying that shitty thing to your daughter, do you know how much I try to make Suzy stop crying yesterday just because of what Xiu Lan had told her?" the woman said, expecting a response from Mrs. Ji who ignored and stare at her newly done nails instead.
Suzy's mother grabbed her bag and was about to leave when Mrs. Ji rose.
"Why in a hurry? you didn't allow me to tell you my mind as well",
Suzy's mother stopped, she turned to the woman staring at her from a short distance as the other women watched.
"I hate when people like you don't know their place", Xiu Lan's mother said, she took a step closer to the woman.
"If you had learned to shut your mouth and not interfere in people's business then maybe your Suzy would not have cried home, all my daughter did was told your daughter the truth and that is not a bad thing is it?" she said and turned to her other friends who were in support.
She continued, "You choose to be my enemy and so be it... I do not... We do not want you among us anymore..." Xiu Lan's mother concluded.
Suzy's mother looked at her other friends and figured they were not in support of her, she let out a scoff. "You people are so unbelievable, you are supporting Susan? didn't your children tell you what Xiu Lan did to them? or you just chose to not say a word because of what Susan is feeding you cowards" she yelled at them.
"Fine I will leave your group and will never come back and as for you Susan", her gaze fell on Xiu Lan's mother who was wearing a mocking smile.
"My daughter said the truth to your daughter as well, Xiaofan is her father's first child and you know what they say about the first child? before Xiu Lan your daughter gets anything, Xiaofan would have gotten double if not triple of it".
The word hit Xiu Lan's mother, she watched the angry woman walk away.

Xiaofan was sitting alone in her room as Yi Chen had returned home, promising to come back the next morning.
She heard a knock on the door, the girl invited whoever was behind the door in, not bothered about the bird anymore, she knew it always find a way to hide from other people.
Meili appeared with a plate of biscuits and a glass of milk.
The lady put the biscuit gently on her bed, she noticed the girl's sad face.
"You okay?... you have been acting strange lately. is anything bothering you? you can always talk to me",
Xiaofan knew the maid was right, if there is anyone she wants to tell anything in the house then it would be Meili, but she just can't tell her about Dai Yu.
"I am fine... don't worry, thanks for the biscuits, I will enjoy it".
"Your stepmother bought it for you and Xiu Lan, she is excited about her daughter's birthday coming up", Meili said before walking out of her room.
Immediately Meili shut the door behind her, the bird flew on the bed staring at the biscuits.
"Go away, this is mine... go get some other animal to eat, isn't that what you owls eat?", the girl said out of frustration. The owl ignored her, it grasp the biscuits between his tiny leg and flew out of the window.
Xiaofan hurried up to the window as she watched the bird fly away.
"DO NOT RETURN TO MY ROOM! GO AWAY!!!".
