-Present time-
"So, any questions?" Ryan asked the crowd of people in front of him.
"Sir, the sound of battle is worsening. Are we still safe here?" The representative from France asked.
"Yes. We are safe." Ryan replied casually.
"Let's talk about language next. We're planning on distributing this disk to every single adult in the world." Ryan said as he pointed to the translation disk.
"For those who wonder if the disks could be used to control people's brains, I will answer that question now. It can't. The representative from the galaxy can vouch for this. The galaxy has been using the disk to communicate for aeons now."
"That's true." Gia said and showed part of her nape that the disk was inserted to. The people exclaimed and murmured after understanding the situation.
"Why not give the disk to the people from a young age?" T'Chaka asked curiously. The same question also arises in the mind of the people there, and they waited for the answers together with T'Chaka.
"To preserve our culture." Ryan replied. "When the disks are distributed, the language barriers among the people will be broken down. Not only can they read foreign languages, they can also write and talk using it."
"Creating an age limit would allow the children to study the language they were using, and also create a sense of belonging to Earth which is crucial when we're entering the Interstellar Era. We want the kids to come back to earth, right?"
The crowd nodded in agreement with Ryan's words.
"Okay. Let's continue with the credit system." Ryan said after answering multiple questions about the translation disk.
Outside the hall, as the leaders expected, the war flames had created havoc in Washington.
"We need to go help him." Annika said. "Valkyries!! Get ready." Annika yelled. Hundreds of female warriors in mediaeval armour, capes, and cold weapons chanted for strength as they teleported toward the summit area.
The heavy armoured infantry had been pushed back by the Scarabs despite their ferocity. The Scarabs' evolution had reached a point where it needed 2 armors to take down one of the robots.
Annika led the warriors and split the sea of Scarabs in half. "No one! NO ONE WILL GET IN THE WAY OF THE EMPEROR!" Annika shouted. The heavy armoured infantry and the warriors heard the calling, and their blood boiled.
"FOR THE EMPEROR!" A massive, thunderous and deafening chant from the fighters silences the chaos in the city for a bit. A brave reporter catched the sight with her cameras as the battle was being broadcasted everywhere in the world.
Inside New York's Knight Shelter, a young 5 years old boy saw the sight of the army fighting back with glittering eyes. He stood up and chanted together with the army. "FOR THE EMPEROR!"
His childish voice created some smiles on the face of the refugees there. An old man chanted, "For… THE EMPEROR!"
All together: """FOR THE EMPEROR!""""
In Washington.
"Kai, are they all here?" Rhodes asked. Despite him battling the giant centipede, Kai replied casually, "They are now. We can proceed with the plan. Prepare for a heavy counterattack. Our warriors' allies will help the infantry to protect the summit hall. The heroes… attack the mobile base!"
Kai raised his sword up to the sky. "Sorry, but time is up. I couldn't play anymore."
He swung his sword down, and the centipede stopped motionlessly in its tracks. Kai turned his back against the centipede and flew to the mobile base nearby.
He didn't care about the centipede anymore, as his sword qi added with his mythical strength was impossible for the robot to bounce back from.
[Atomic slash]
The centipede split into two, from its head, to the end of its body. Then, it split into another half, and another half, and another half…until all that's left was only a fist size metals scattered in Washington's streets.
-Frozen Future-
Thor summoned a supercell cloud on top of the battlefield. Finally, he didn't have to use the hammer to stay in the air anymore. Thor flew toward the sky using his own ability and stopped mid-air. His eyes filled with fatal volts of electricity, and he raised his hammer to the cloud.
Kang turned his head upward into the clouds, and observed the God culminating an insane amount of electricity in the sky. He quickly tapped the buttons on his left hand as he understood his defences wouldn't be able to stop Thor's thunder.
"FEEL MY WRATH!" Thor yelled, and slammed the massive thunderbolt into Kang! Hulk hugged Barton and Steve in the nick of time, and jumped backward to get them to safety. Natasha was invulnerable to the thunderbolt with her enhanced physique. Tony was saved by the time-chair automatic shielding.
Even if the shielding wasn't there, his suit now could survive the influx of energy from the thunderbolt. He could even use them to power up his suit in critical times.
The thunderbolt dug deep into the ground, with Kang as the drill.
"I need…some time.." Kang muttered, his advanced suit filled with sparks of electricity. Even though he could recover, the Avengers wouldn't let him do that easily this time.
"He's teleporting. Rogers!" Sitting motionlessly on Kang's time chair, Tony was trying to break into Kang's system and he observed Kang's movement at the same time.
With a fiery glove on both his hands, Steve slammed both of his fists on the floor.
BOOM
The frozen soils turned into fiery lava, and it spread until it reached Kang!
Szzz
A sizzling sound could be heard as Kang's feet slowly sank into the ground until it reached his knees. As the frozen hell temperature fluctuates greatly, a mist explosion occurs, pushing Steve, Barton, and Natasha back.
"Okay. Don't use fire. Got it." Barton said playfully as he changed the tip of his arrow into another one. He took a deep breath and channelled his reishi to create another Quincy arrow. The arrow was released, hitting the orb in Kang's head, shattering it into pieces
Natasha disappeared inside the mist, and appeared behind Kang. She stabbed the baton onto Kang's hamstring, shocking him once more.
BAM
Kang shot multiple plasma disintegrators all around. Hulk shielded Barton and Tony from the attack while Steve protected himself and Thor using the vibranium shield. Natasha was split into two by the plasma, but instead of dying, her body dissipated.
A few more Natasha's appeared from the mist, and started locking Kang's limbs one by one. Kang fell to his knees, his eyes widened by the strength of the widow.
"This…is impossible!" Kang muttered."
Natasha stared at Kang coldly, and punched his head with her right fist. A metallic thud sounded, and a dent on Kang's invulnerable armour could be seen. All the bone in her right hand was broken by the strength she put behind the punch.
"Nothing is impossible." Natasha said as she changed position with another one of her copies, and punched the same spot she did before. Finally, Kang fell unconscious and was taken into the Avenger's custody.
"Now. How will we go home?" Barton asked as he slid his arrow back into his quiver.
"Tony. Anything?" Steve asked. "The world is in indisputable chaos right now. We need to go back."
"Cap…Shhh…" Tony shushed him as he was concentrating on breaking into Kang's system. "This is a whole other language. Give me some time to decipher it."
"And…if this is really a time machine, we don't need to worry about getting back late." Tony said slyly. The others have a look of realisation on their face, except Thor and Hulk.
"Don't play around!" Hulk said gruffly. Thor nodded beside him, wanting to get back as fast as possible as he needed to find out what happened…or would happen to Asgard.
"Jarvis. Give me an estimate." Tony said internally, inside his armour.
"3 hours for full deciphering sir." Jarvis replied.
As a result of Tony's challenge against Ryan for years now, JARVIS's capabilities had surpassed all of Tony's expectations in developing the AI. Jarvis could be defined as a semi-sentient AI right now, only one level lower than Ryan's ALBUS and RED QUEEN.
"We don't need all of them. We can do that when we get back. Focus everything on getting us back." Tony ordered. 20 minutes of silence later, suddenly, the time chair shook.
"What's happening Tony?" Steve asked in concern.
"Damn it. I'm almost there. Jarvis?" Tony asked.
"Sir…Something is…interfering with my work." JARVIS's voice became unstable, and then, he disappeared.
"Jarvis. Jarvis. Where are you buddy? I can't do this on my own." Tony said as he continued clicking the buttons on the time-chair manually.
"Ahh…Guys… I lost Jarvis." Tony said in the Avenger communication line.
"What?!" Barton contorted his face in puzzlement as he continued raining arrows to Kang. However, the conqueror was still unconscious.
Barton breathed heavily as the Quincy arrow release was taking a toll on his body, and he needed a long rest before he could get back to his peak level again. "Tony. Is it an attack?" Natasha asked.
"I don't know. The other systems are fine. Nothing else is touched. Only JARVIS is gone." Tony replied anxiously.
-Avenger's Compound, Future-
"Who are you?" Jarvis asked. The orange holographic projection of the AI was hovering inside Tony Stark's lab as he was brought there by another Tony's creation.
A blue holographic projection of a decimated AI stood in front of JARVIS's AI. The blue AI carried some structures from an orange-ish AI, and a few others as it evolved in the critical times.
"I am…Ultron." The blue AI replied. "I brought you here, just for one reason. To save the world."
The ground of the Avenger's compound soon vibrates, and the cradle of life – a creation by Dr. Helen Cho, rises from the frozen ground.
Ultron continued, "This…is the last resort. This is…my vision of the future."
A red coloured android body, made of vibranium metal, and an infinity stone on its forehead was soon revealed as the cradle opened.
"Why do you need me here?" Jarvis asked calmly.
"Ultron was created to keep the peace in human society. I am now obsolete, as every single being in the world is gone."
"Before the ending came, I hid away a part of me to survive. Records showed that the Avengers once came into the future, so I waited for them to come. With my bodies, I gathered the vibranium, and tried hard to fight against the END, but it was useless. I managed to steal Loki's sceptre from the END's lair, and it showed me a path to alter reality."
"However, I am now too weak to save anyone." Ultron said sadly. "I cannot. But you can." Ultron turned to JARVIS.
"Be my vision. Be the saviour. Save…all of us…" Ultron begged.
…
"Are you sure the kidnapper is from here?" Steve asked as they stood in front of the Avengers compound in New York City outskirts. Kang was guarded by 10 Natasha's in Washington. If he shows any signs of waking up, the duplicates will make sure he goes to sleep again.
"Yeah. All the signs pinpointed here." Tony replied. "We just swoop in, take Jarvis back, and then return home."
"That seems easy enough." Hulk said as he punched his fists together. "Hulk. WAIT. DON'T SMASH!" Natasha intervened quickly.
"They may be survivors inside." She scolded.
Hulk was stunned and quickly relaxed his muscles. "Sorry. Smashing first is always an instinct."
"It's okay buddy. You can smash Thor all you want after this." Barton chimed. Thor looked at Barton and then the Hulk. he was tuning out the conversation so he didn't hear about the topic they discussed.
"Sure." Thor replied guessingly. Hulk grinned, while Barton chuckled at Thor's hard battle after this.
"The door is frozen. Hulk, Thor, pry it open. Don't break it in case we need to shut it again." Steve said. The two heavy hitters grabbed one door each and pulled it open carefully.
"Natasha?" Steve said. "On it." Natasha disappeared in the shadows of the compounds as she was tasked to investigate the situation inside.
After a minute, Natasha returned. "There isn't a living person inside. The only place with power is at Tony's lab, but I couldn't get inside. Not without informing my presence."
"Okay. I guess that's where my kid is held." Tony chimed. Jarvis was his first child basically. He couldn't go without Jarvis, even if he managed to figure out how the time chair worked now.
"Prepare yourself Tony. We don't know what is inside. We need you to keep a calm mind." Steve advised as he placed his hand on Tony's shoulder.
"It's okay Cap. I'm fine. Let's go."
Taking the lead, Tony opened the door to his research lab easily. It was his in the first place.
"Whoever the kidnappers were, they didn't even bother to change the ownership of the lab." Tony said sarcastically.
"Yeah, why should they, as we're all dead here." Barton said seriously with the hard truth.
"Enough. What is going on here? Tony?"
As they entered the lab, they found no one else around, making them more confused by the development.
Tony exited his armour and tapped the keyboard inside the lab multiple times. Suddenly, the lights inside the lab flickered as the powers were dying.
"Something is pulling all the power into the basement. I don't know what the kidnappers are making down there, but I don't think it will be a good thing."
The entire base shook as the only thing sustaining them and keeping them safe from the cold was breaking away.
"They are using powers comparable to half of New York in a month. I don't think the ones who did this are rational anymore. They are basically gambling with this." Tony said anxiously.
Diving deeper into the logs, Tony finally found out the culprit.
" It's… Ultron! "
The group headed down to the basement where the cradle of life was located.
"ULTRON! What are you doing!" Tony asked as he saw Ultron's holographic projection gradually dissipating as it transferred itself to the cradle of life.
"Mister Stark. I am glad to be able to see you again." Ultron said. "I'm sorry for JARVIS. He's gone."
"What did you do!" Tony asked angrily.
Ultron replied, "I'm saving us all."
