AUTHOR: I'm in the process of creating a christmas special which will be upload with tomorrow's chapter. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Side note: I will be taking a break until the New Year after tomorrow. Its the holiday season right? Its time to be with family instead of sitting in front of the laptop the moment I wake up from bed till I go back to sleep lol.
"We're here."
From the screen of the spaceship, a huge resort city could be seen as the ship entered the planet's atmosphere. A 500 stories tall hotel with the logo KNIGHT on it catches the eyes of everyone who enters the planet.
Finally, the RV spaceship arrived at Mars after a short travel for Kai to hand Doreen over to Ana, one of the islanders to take care of her. The RV landed on the parking lot near the Mars Hotel where Peter and the others were having their field trip.
The planet's terraforming process was completed as it was accelerated using Dawn's divinity. The dead, red soil was turned into sparsely populated, desert-like plants all over the planets. Trees and crops from Earth were grown inside a biodome as the process of adaptation for the plants are still ongoing.
"Dad. Come on. Lemme fight~" Doreen persuaded Kai while hugging his leg. Wearing a denim suspender and a white shirt, the short-haired girl flashed the best abandoned- puppy-dog look to have her father change his mind.
Her father, a man dressed in a black suit without a tie, tried to shake her off, but she sticks toward him like a gum.
"Ana. Please take care of my baby girl." Kai said. He kicked his legs up gently, causing Doreen to fly smoothly toward Ana's embrace.
"DADDY!" Doreen exclaimed in a sad tone.
"Of course. She is our baby girl." Ana said flirtatiously while holding Doreen mid-air in her hug. She was wearing a simple black turtleneck and a blue jean when she came to take Doreen away.
Kai smiled wryly while Ana acted innocently as if she didn't know what she had done.
Doreen struggles to get out of Ana's embrace, but it's impossible. The woman was more solid than a mountain. Kai leaned in and kissed Doreen's forehead.
"I'll be back soon."
Ana smiled naughtily and patted her cheek using a finger as Kai raised his face up, meeting her eye-to-eye.
"What? You want me to do you a favour right?" Ana said. Kai gave up and kissed her on the cheek, making her beamed in satisfaction. It wasn't that he was cheating on his girlfriend, but Ana was more of a sister to him. She too felt the same way as him, and had become part of their little family – like a hot aunt who came by to celebrate christmas together.
"Please don't." Skye chimed in as she couldn't watch any longer. She was already in her battle suit – a black, SHIELD-issued combat attire for the agents. Kai offered to give her a better suit, but she rejected, saying that she felt at ease while wearing the agent's uniform.
"Bye~" Ana waved her hand goodbye toward the father-daughter duo who'd entered the spaceship and now floating in the Mars sky.
"Skye. Last chance. If you don't want to fight, I won't force you." Kai said as he sat down on the spaceship control centre.
"It's okay. I need to let out some steam anyway. Besides, it'll be fun to meet with my friends again." Skye said with a soft smile. Kai nodded and pushed the lever of the spaceship forward.
The ship disappeared from Doreen's and Ana's line of sight as it went out of Mars' atmosphere.
"Hmm…Daddy is mean." Doreen pouted.
Ana patted her hair lovingly, still keeping the kid inside of her embrace. "Really? I thought that you love your dad?"
"I love him. But he's mean." She said, puffing up her cheeks.
"But…he left you so many new toys to play with in my home? I guess he'd done that because he is mean."
"…" Doreen was silent, then she perked up, "Toys?"
"Yess. Huge ones too."
"Hmm… he is less mean now." Doreen said, causing Ana to laugh softly.
-Washington-
"You're… unscathed?" Steve said in a calm tone after punching Kang out of the conference hall.
"Do you really think you had me before?" Kang said while he stood lazily mid-air. "The only reason you could get me out of there, was because I wanted to get out of there."
Kang summoned his time chair and sat on his throne. "After all, the commander needs to command, not trying to do something that will never work in the entire human history."
"And that is…?" Natasha chimed in, standing beside Steve.
Kang turned to look at her from mid-air and replied, "Democracy."
"Spoken like true Tyrant." Another Avenger member chimed in as he appeared.
Tony flew in a high speed toward Kang, shooting his palm cannon at him without warning.
BOOOM
The energy hit the forcefield around Kang, returning it to the sender's direction. Tony swerved to dodge the energy while talking to JARVIS.
Tony: Anything?
Jarvis: The force field is impenetrable. Current weaponry will be impossible to harm him.
Tony: Jarvis, you know I hate the word impossible.
Jarvis: Yes sir. You'll definitely fail to breach it.
Tony: …. Sometimes I wonder why I put up with you.
"Tony Stark." Kang muttered as he turned his head toward Tony.
"You know me? Wait…. You're not going to say I'm your great-great-great-great grandfather, is it?"
Kang: ….
Steve scolded him, "Tony. Be serious!"
"Steve, you don't understand. If I am his ancestor, there is an easy fix for all of this." Tony smirked before he muttered. "I wish you're never born!"
Steve: ….
Natasha: ….
Kang: ….
Kang aimed his fingers at Tony, attacking him with 10 parallel particle accelerator beams at the same time.
Tony swerved, however, so did the beams. It hit the Iron armour and flung Tony far away from the battlefield.
"I don't know why, but I don't even feel mad that he'd done that." Natasha said. Steve nodded and said while letting out a sigh. "Me too."
Kang studied the Avenger members in front of him and couldn't help but voiced out his observations. His attack should've cut down the Iron Man into pieces as he'd done multiple times before, but this one was different. He was just flung away.
Not only that, Rogers, an individual with a heightened sense of camaraderie didn't try to attack him after to avenge Tony as Kang predicted. Instead, he kept a level head and was now waiting for backup.
"You… are different from the other Avengers I'd met before."
Steve raised his brows and asked, "In what way?"
"Trust." Kang replied. "Power level. Rationalism. Weaponry. Skill sets."
A humongous wind arrow appeared from behind Kang to ambush him. However, his green-layered force field managed to block the arrow and dissemble the arrow's kinetic energy, causing it to dissipate.
"Even Hawkeye has superpowers here. I am curious. When did the change in time occur? How did the change Doom created brought all of you to this level?"
"Doom? Who is Doom?" Natasha catches the new name and tries to pry for more information.
A kilometre away from the fight, Tony stood up with dirt and grass on his new suits. "I just made this today too." He said sadly.
"Jarvis?" Tony asked.
"Armour integrity is at 99.5% sir. The attack could barely scratch it."
"Nice." Tony said excitedly. He received a new metal from Ryan after he started mining for rare resources in the asteroid belt. The new metal he used not only allowed him a terrifying amount of defences, he also could break into new heights in his Iron Man Armor capabilities.
"Sir, we have a problem." Another AI that has James Spader voice chimed in. "A few mobile fortresses are now floating around various countries of the world. They are close to the governmental buildings of the government and are preparing for an attack."
"Damn it. How did they get past the defence line?" Tony said as he activated his jet thruster to fly into the sky. "Is it teleportation?"
"No sir. Although they seemed to appear out of nowhere, it also seems that they have been there the whole time."
"What?!" Tony scrunched his face in puzzlement.
…
"There will probably be a war outside of the hall. But it doesn't matter. Leave the problems to the Avengers and the American army." Ryan said, calming down the group of world leaders there.
"Is it another invasion, eh?" The representative from Canada asked.
"It is. But not from an alien this time." Ryan replied.
"He isn't an alien? But…he's blue?" The representative from Morocco mumbled loud enough for others to hear.
"No. He is human. But not from our time. In his time, he was the tyrant of the entire Earth. But I guess the things we had done here had destroyed his timeline, causing him to come here to seek retribution."
The gears inside the leaders' mind spins fast and they finally understand the situation.
"So, we already failed…In another time." T'Challa muttered to himself. He slipped out of the hall to get to the Wakandan stealth jet he parked a few kilometres away.
The first leaders who came to the front was surprisingly T'Chaka.
"In this war, Wakanda opens up our border to help the citizens of the world." He said. Some of the world leaders chuckled at the offer of the impoverished nation, thinking that T'Chaka was speaking out of the goodness of his heart instead of understanding the whole situation. Other leaders felt touched that Wakanda tried to help the world in times of need.
"Okay. I'll leave Wakanda to the matter of the African continent. Somalia's air force is going to join you in defending. Is that okay, Obax?" Ryan asked the youngest of the leaders in the hall. Obax stood up and walked toward the Wakandan King.
"We'll take the lead." Obax said with a soft smile, not looking down at the Wakandan King at all.
Somalia's technology and development were on par with the Wakandan at this moment, minus the vibranium tech.
Not only that, they were the first country to enter the world unity project, long before the other countries did. They already have their own mining ship, and have returned with a profit that was 10 times their country's national GDP last year – opening us to new, drastic levels of improvement for their country.
All over the world – England, India, Japan, Netherland, Morocco and many more countries were alarmed by the sudden appearance of the mobile base in the sky.
Shaped like a pyramid, the mobile base spun in the sky before it spouted countless 2 metre-in-radius, metallic orbs indiscriminately in all directions. Some orbs fell on the streets, others fell inside people's homes and places of work.
"My god!" Sam Wilson exclaimed as he flew over the streets of New York in his new red-coloured Falcon suit with transparent hard light wings. He saw that a kid was in the direction of impact as the shadow of the metal orb was directly on top of the kid.
"Look out!" Sam yelled and flew toward the kid with a higher speed than the Iron Man's Armour. He stopped for a second and picked up the kid in his arm before he flew away while simultaneously dodging the metal orb.
"Let's get you to safety." Sam said and transferred the kid to the Brainbots who'd been escorting people to the disaster shelter in every major city right now.
"What is he doing?" Jen Walter asked as she saw the damage on Washington's streets.
"Whatever it is, it'll probably not be a good thing." Banner said and took off his glasses. His muscles bulged, but it was contained inside the Adidas sports wear he has been wearing. Hulk changed places with Banner and smacked his fist together. "It's SMASHING TIME!"
Jen raised one of her eyebrows and looked at the Hulk. "Are you copying Ben's catchphrase? (A/N: It's CLOBBERIN TIME!"
Hulk replied gruffly, "…No."
As if responding to Hulk's words, a red blinking light appeared inside the metallic orb. The SCARAB, of Kang's domination arsenal, were activated remotely by the mobile base. The orb opened up in 4 positions, the crawler started to appear and helped the metallic orb to move. A head also popped out from the top of the scarab and it started to scan the possible threats toward the surrounding area.
"Ohh. They saw us." Jen said excitedly. She started to take off her clothes right in the middle of the streets as a response to the serious situation. "What? I don't want my dress to get ruined." Jen turned her head to the reader and explained herself.
Her muscles bulged and she transformed into the She-Hulk wearing a purple stretchy suit.
The scarabs walked toward Hulk and She-Hulk and attacked them without any warning. Hulk jumped towards one of the scarabs and punched it from the top, causing it to be buried slightly on the ground. The top half of the scarab was dented in, breaking the mechanism that it used to move and see around it.
Jen ripped off one of the scarab's legs and used the pointy end to stab the scarab's body, causing it to fall limply on the ground.
"That was easy?" Jen said, wiping the dust off her hand. Hulk gloated, "Easy for you. You only fight one." He sat on top of 3 broken scarabs while posing, just to get a rise out of Jen.
Jen growled in anger and threw a piece of the scarab's body toward the Hulk. Not only the green monster has it easy, but the others have it too.
"Too easy." Rhodey said as he decimated the scarabs around London.
"This is the most advanced army in the world?" Pietro muttered as he was done destroying the scarabs in Paris.
"Kang. Are you really from the future? What's with the trash robots?" Barton ridiculed him as he shot multiple wind arrows toward Kang. He finally got the additional ability that he wanted. Instead of using compound V like Natasha, Barton received a spirit weapon, mainly the Quincy weapon and method to cultivate reishi.
He was confused by the terms at first, but Barton was someone who'd trained with the ninjas before. He quickly picked up the techniques and has been developing his lethality steadily.
Kang didn't reply to Barton's ridicule, instead he pressed a few buttons on his time chair.
Nearby where Hulk and She-Hulk were bickering, the scarab with its head dented in started to recover from the damage slowly while upgrading itself for another battle.
Carol Denvers was commanding the SWORD organisation when the attack happened. The Earth's thousand sky fighters, SSV ships, and SWORD's very own space fighters had been attacking the Damocles base, but none of the attacks managed to get through it.
"Damn it." Carol muttered. "I will go there myself. The base is the control centre for all the mobile bases on Earth. Take that out…all the others will be out too. Abigail, you'll take the command. "
Carol gave the command to Abigail Brand before flying in extreme speed to penetrate the ship's defence line. However, a green traction beam was shot toward her, trapping her in slow motion as she reached nearby the base.
"(In slow motion) Wwwwhhhhhaaaaatttt tttttthhhhhheeee hhhhheeeelllll????(What the hell?)"
"Reporting to the conqueror. One of the Avengers is contained." A grey skinned underlings for Kang reported.
Kang nodded slightly as his plans worked. 'Now…to deal with the others.'
He took out a small revolver and aimed it at Natasha Romanoff. She widened her eyes and tried to dodge, but it was too late. The bullet had already penetrated her heart when she saw the revolver.
Blood flowed out of her mouth and she fell to her knees.
"NAT!" Barton yelled as he saw Nat falling to the floor in a pool of her own blood.
"Two down." Kang muttered coldly and turned his gun to face Barton next.
