Chapter 4 - Akio

"No." They all replied.

"Good." I smirked as I raised my hand high up in the air. "Now, raise your swords and follow me!" I shouted as I led them to the castle's throne room.

"Surrender, Marcus! I won't ask you again!" I shouted at my younger brother, the first prince, who was hiding behind the Queen at that point.

"Go away, you murderer!" He replied.

"You dare to talk to me like that? What's wrong? Afraid of me?" I laughed.

"No, I'm not afraid of you at all!" He replied.

"Oh, really?" I smirked. "Well, guess you'll have to prove me wrong then." I took out my blade and ran towards him. And unlike what he told, I could see fear emanating through his eyes. I decided to do what I had to do to my insubordinate brother and sliced his head off.

"No!" The Queen yelled.

I felt relieved after chopping of the pathetic prince's head. "Now that I'm the emperor, I guess I don't need you to stay here for much longer." I said.

"You'll regret this!" She shouted.

"Oh, really?" I replied.

I took the sword from the general's waist and pointed it towards her neck. "Give me one good reason why I should let you live." I asked.

"Because I'm your mother-"

"Step! Step-mother that conspired with the other concubines to kill off my mother. Did you really think that I wouldn't know of this?" I asked. Although, this happened years ago, the wounds in my heart hadn't healed yet.

"I'm sorry! Please spare me!" She begged.

"Spare you? Hmph! Don't make me laugh." I replied.

"Please! I beg of you!" She begged.

"Spare you? Definitely not. Just give me a reason why I should spare you and I'll do it." I replied.

"I'll give you anything you want." She replied after thinking for a while.

"I want you to die." I replied.

"Please! I beg of you! I don't want to die!" She begged.

"Oh, so you want to live?" I asked.

"Yes." She replied.

"Hmph. Well, alright. Perhaps I'll spare you." I replied.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you!" She shouted.

"But I have one condition." I replied.

"Yes?" She asked

"Bring my mom that you killed off back from the dead." I spoke.

"What?" She asked.

"You heard me. Bring my mom back from the dead." I replied.

"No, I can't. That's impossible." She replied.

"Then I'm afraid, I can't let you go." I replied as I raised my hand high up in the air. "I'll make sure it's a slow and painful death. First, I'll burn you alive." I raised the sword to her body, but before I could do anything, she disappeared from the spot. I turned around and saw that the general was the one that saved her.

"General!" I shouted.

"Wait!" He replied. "She has a job that needs to be done."

"I don't care. I just gave her one last chance, but she didn't take it. I can't let her go." I replied.

"Please! Spare my life!" The Queen begged.

"General, I'm gonna give you one last warning. If you ever did something like this ever again, your head would roll on the ground as well. So, do as I say and leave the queen to me." I commanded.

"Yes, your highness." He replied.

"Good." I smirked and stabbed the queen with my sword before she could say anything else and killed her. Although I would've liked to kill her slowly, it wouldn't have been favorable for me if some other idiot like the general thought of interfering.

Anyhow, it was something that I had to do. She was my step-mother that conspired with the other concubines to kill off my mother. She was the one that took my mother away from me. And now, I have finally exacted my revenge. There was nothing else I had to do, now that it was all over, now that I have completed my goal.

Or at least, that's what I would've thought if I did this a few years ago. But things have changed drastically right now. I killed my entire bloodline for a reason. I was sick of their tyranny and foolishness. And now, after all of the chaos, I could finally rest in peace.

Or so I thought.

"Your highness!" The general shouted as he entered the throne room.

"What is it?" I asked.

"The guards have seen a suspicious figure outside the castle." He replied.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Go and take care of them." I replied.

"Yes, your highness." He replied.

He then left the throne room. And I was left alone in the throne room. I sighed as I walked out of the throne room and headed towards my room. I didn't plan on doing anything for now. I was just planning on going to my room and sleeping. I just want to see what would happen to my empire once I start to officially begin my reign.

"Ha, the beginning of the villainous tyrannical empress' rule, huh? It's just like the novel... Except, there's a lot more blood involved in here." I opened my eyes to see a strange man floating over me like it's nothing.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Me? I'm Akio." He replied.

"Akio? Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm an extra character." He replied.

"Huh?" I asked.

"I'm an extra character of the story." He replied.

"What story?" I asked.

"The story of the brave hero and the saintess that defeats the demon lord and slays the villainous empress." He replied.
