Walking on the corridor after class hours as he headed home, Chris heard someone calling out his name few feets from where he was...he stood on his feet and turned to where the voice came from. To his surprise the voice came from Izy who was panting as she hurried to reach his spot, they never had the close relationship to make stories which made him guess the reason for her sudden call.
Standing before him, Izy smiled trying to breath first before talking to him. The corridor was empty as many students were still catching up after classes before leaving while others were in library trying to go through their lessons. She had a lot to say to this man but her mouth became speechless at his presence causing Chris to rise flash his one hand before her face to bring her attention back.
"Isabelle if you are done staring you can speak now..am in a hurry!" His words made her blush a little and feel shy.
"Huh..oh..its just the last time we met I forgot to ask you something.." She tried to look at him straight in the eyes.
He sighed before asking, "what is it? I thought I made myself clear enough that I don't want anything to do with you!"
"You don't have to remind me, my heart hasn't healed from your words since then...hmmm I wish I could change how I feel about you rather than hurting myself!" She poured her heart out seeking sympathy from Chris, but the man had the same cold expression on his face like Izy was just wasting his time.
"What's your question? I'm in a hurry!" He asked.
Izy pulled herself together to ask the question. "What's so special about Gabrielle that made you choose her over me?"
He shook his head disappointed at her question, "She has the power to make my heart beat for her..that's what's special about Gabrielle coz you can't do that, satisfied with the answer huh!?"
His answer made her freeze for a moment and Chris took that as a goodbye, so he turned his back on her and was ready to leave when she held his arm abruptly causing him to look at her angrily
"I know what Gaby is hiding from you!" She blurted out.
"So?" He nonchalantly asked.
"I want to disclose everything about her, after learning the truth then you can choose wisely between the two of us." She spoke confidently knowing that he'll choose her after knowing that Gabrielle is hermaphrodite.
He squeezed her hand away from his arm and faced her desperate face, "You said it pretty well its GABY'S SECRET, she's the only one who'll tell me about it not otherwise!"
"I don't know want you close to me Isabelle, so let this be the last time we're close like this..bye!" He made himself clear without battling his eye.
Standing there dumbfounded and ashamed, Izy watched the back of Chris as he disappeared on the school buildings. After he was out of her sight that's when she noticed warm fluid on her cheeks, damn it she was crying. She used the back of her palm to wipe the tears off before anyone saw her weak side, all she wanted was to be loved back which seemed impossible at the moment.
Heading back to class, Izy bumped into Gaby who was carrying both their bags coming from the class. She noticed the wetness on her sister's cheeks which made her drop the bags down and held Izy by the shoulders affectionately looking into her moist eyes.
"Were you crying? Do you feel sick anywhere?" She was worried about her sister.
Izy frowned at the actions of her sister as she said. "Like you really care!"
Izy bent down and picked her bag ready to leave, Gaby picked hers and followed her twin behind trying to talk to her
"I've always cared for you..you are my only sibling Izy, if you don't tell me your problems then whom will you tell!?" Gaby asked.
A sarcastic chuckle escaped Izy's mouth amused by her sister's words, Gaby wondered what was so fun about her words but couldn't find anything funny...she only stated facts, they were born only two so they had to support each other.
"Am serious Izy, talk to me...you don't seem okay these days, what's bothering you?" She asked again.
Izy stopped walking and faced her sister, her eyes filled with anger.. "You want to know my problem?"
Gaby only nodded her head ready to listen to her sister's problem.
"My problem is you Gabrielle! You are what bothers me.." She stated briefly giving Gaby sometime to digest her words.
