"This is an informal safe space for the young ladies and masters studying in the academy to freely engage in discourse and diplomacy," Charles continues. "After all, the conflicts and the factions of the nobles are consuming this kingdom."
"Isn't House De Jure part of the king's faction?" Gianni replies. "Won't this place spell trouble for those that are not in the faction?"
"We are but a barony, and the role we play in the faction is quite minimal," Charles answers as the meals finally arrive. The server places three wineglasses, a bowl of grapes and a plate of soft cheese on the table. He pours red wine on the glasses. "House Saint-Amour is part of the king's faction, too, is it not?"
"It is," Gianni replies taking one of the glass filled with red wine.
"And your father is a count, which means..."
"Yes, that is correct," Gianni cuts Charles off before taking a sip of the wine. "That is good wine."
