"Mom and Dad will have to let go of Blue Crescent."
Miranda's hold on Nevada's shoulder tightened, and she looked directly in his eyes as she continued talking, "Dear, you understand that this is for the good of everyone, right? This is also for your own good."
Nevada obediently nodded in understanding.
He grasped Miranda's hand and squeezed it lightly before letting go to see her off.
His parents failed to read his heart. He was screaming at the top of his lungs.
'No! I don't understand! Why do you have to go? Without you, I will meet my tragic end like every other omega before me did!'
However, outside, he still appeared as timid and obedient as before.
"Take care, mom, dad."
'Don't go! Don't we have our pride and bravery? I would rather die in battle than be defeated like this!'
There wasn't even time to worry about his parents, or about anything else for that matter.
Nevada was bullied nonstop.
He encountered stronger wolves in groups that took advantage of him, and many she-wolves treated him like a punching bag.
There was not a single peaceful day, and every night was a nightmare.
Nevada knew that it was impossible for this matter not to have reached the ears of the alpha. Or even if it truly didn't, the beta should have caught wind of it.
Yet nobody took action.
He was told by his parents that he would have to bear the alpha's heir. He accepted it as it was.
There was no mention of any marriage, or anything that could protect him, just that he was to give birth.
However, when he had tried to look for the alpha, he was blocked by the beta, telling him to wait patiently till the alpha himself looks for or summons him.
Nevada desperately explained that he needed urgent help at that moment, but he was coldly brushed aside.
That was when reality truly sinked in.
Nobody cared.
It was as if he was back under that cold pile of snow, left to freeze to death.
Every day he only wished to die. If he couldn't escape, then just please let his life end already.
But right now…
Right now it will be different.
This new Nevada that the system has brought will pave the way. He will bring justice to his soul that was treated so unfairly.
He will make them pay for driving him to the edge mercilessly.
Nevada was at his first step.
Lucas, Shiloh's beta, was stunned after feeling his hand suddenly tremble.
His body felt numb that he couldn't even properly hold his spoon.
He did not know what Nevada had done, but he had a strong gut feeling that he was doing something.
Lucas couldn't move even the tips of his fingers!
"Is this a proclamation?" Shiloh asked when he realized that something was wrong with his companions.
The corners of his mouth curled up, but his smile also didn't reach his eyes.
Nevada flattened his lips.
He gently shook his head once from left to right.
His eyes closed for a few seconds and he heaved a deep breath before answering, "This is only a demonstration of power. You see, you wouldn't have to lose anything. This is just another gain."
That's right.
The previous Nevada has wasted such a good ability.
He was an extremely dominant omega. So if his pheromones were used right, he could have easily overpowered the other werewolves.
As long as they weren't an equally extreme dominant alpha.
The sound of utensils falling on the table and plates rang out as the White Moon members all trembled.
They felt horror as they couldn't move a single muscle.
At first, they didn't understand what was happening. But after hearing the exchanges between Shiloh and the omega, they realized what was suppressing them.
Pheromones!
How could pheromones be used this way?
Weren't they only used to attract alphas and seduce them into mating?
Questions lingered in the minds of everybody present on the table, but nobody voiced them out.
Especially the White Moon members who were still unable to move and could not talk.
Nevada grinned wider. "I don't want such a difficult position like being a pack leader. I merely need stability. Give me that and I am yours to use."
He turned to his parents who were both quiet and dumbfounded.
At the same time, the warm scent of the forest seemed to withdraw and White Moon instantly gasped for air.
There was a thud from Lucas's direction as the beta heavily bumped his fist to the table while throwing sharp daggers at Nevada with his glares.
Shiloh gave him a sideway glance which made him unclench his fist and look away seething in anger.
"Father, mother, this is my decision."
Theo had always secretly worried in his heart about their son's timidity and incompetence.
He was good at fulfilling what he was told, but he had never taken initiative.
It was how he was continually ignored and looked down on by their own wolves and by the other packs.
He took their beatings as if he deserved them and never retaliated.
Now that he was confidently standing up for himself, making decisions for himself, Theo thought that he had become a completely different person.
Contrary to Nevada's parents' anxious appearance, and Lucas's ugly expression, amusement continued to dance in Shiloh's eyes.
In reality, only about thirty seconds of silence had passed since Nevada stated his stand.
However, because the silence stretched out for that long, the atmosphere turned somewhat tense and awkward.
It seemed they had all communicated in the mind links instead.
Finally, Shiloh started to speak.
"Breeding is a heavy subject for me," he stated in a low voice. "But I shall keep the little omega by my side while I consider the matter of marriage."
Bastard!
Nevada continued to punch the poor pillow on his bed.
The system watched quietly on the side as its host continued to torture his blankets and pillows.
It was afraid that if it made a sound or made its presence known, Nevada would turn to vent his anger towards it instead.
"That fucker is so annoying. Nobody mentioned anything about marriage. It was just about giving him a fucking heir!"
He panted, kicked the nearby fluffy pillow off the bed, and smacked the headboard with his hand a little too strongly.
"Ouch!" he cried out, his eyes suddenly moistening and tears threatening to fall.
"This is all that bastard's fault! What is there to still consider! His White Moon was the first to give this condition, but he made it sound as if our pack was deliberately asking for his hand in marriage!"
What was pride?
Omegas do not have that, but Shiloh just gave him a new level of low!
There was a knock on the door.
Nevada jumped in fright.
He hurried to scurry off the bed, but the door opened without warning after a couple more swift knocks.
With a foot not even touching the floor yet, and two hands crumpling the sheets as he held on while reaching for the white fur slippers not far from the bed, Nevada looked up to see a pair of curved eyes that seemed to be making fun of him.
"Why are you here?" Nevada asked in alarm.
Although he could somewhat control his pheromones, his room was still filled with his scent.
If this alpha got affected and jumped him, he wasn't confident he could defend himself with his current physique.
Shiloh watched his glistening eyes. "You can shed your tears of joy later. Hurry up for now. We need to run."
Shiloh had personally come to pick him up.
If Nevada didn't know better, he would think that this alpha came in fear of finding out that he had already escaped.
Where could he even go?
Did he not look like someone who would keep his words?
Staring at the gap between the top of Shiloh's head and the doorway, Nevada distractedly replied, "I haven't even packed a single shirt yet."
In his heart, he was complaining: 'How come this male lead is so tall! Why was I not called to play this character instead?'
The system thought that he was asking a question, so it instantly answered: [The main protagonist of the story is Nevada, and he is the character surrounded by errors. If other characters were to be called into this world, the creator will be taking the 'them' that's from another dimension. So you were chosen because what the system needs is a Nevada…]
"It was a rhetorical question. Why do you have so much to say?" Nevada snapped.
Still, he thought that what he heard was a bit interesting.
Does a Shiloh exist in his original world?
"You don't have to pack anything. We already talked about this matter. Were you not listening a while ago?" Shiloh mused.
Who would be in the mood to listen to other people dictate your life?
Although he appeared willing, Nevada was still harboring grudges towards his real life parents.
He did everything to excel and be on top just to have a say when it comes to his personal life.
But in the end, his father still disowned him.
Bummed out with his current thoughts, Nevada was down and lost his energy as he nodded his head.
Shiloh's brows were raised in curiosity at the sudden drop of his mood.
As a result, Nevada was half-hearted while being sent off by his parents.
The party, all from the White Moon Pack with Nevada, walked leisurely to the border river.
Some are chatting and joking idly in little groups, but at the very back, there was Nevada followed closely behind by the alpha.
Lucas would occasionally cast glances at the two, his guard up just in case Nevada has something up his sleeve.
Once the waters could be clearly heard and when the river was coming into view, they started undressing one by one, stunning Nevada where he stood.
Nevada has always paid attention.
Because of his sexuality, he avoided a lot of things, like going to the public men's bathroom or going anywhere men would be naked.
He may have seen topless guys, but that was during swimming or other special occasions.
It has inconvenienced him many times before.
However, he thought that one day, when he comes out or if he was ever outed, then it would be one less issue for him.
He may not care much, but he still wished to make his life less difficult in the future.
Shiloh watched him hide behind a tree and begin to take off his clothes.
Nevada stopped and grimaced at Shiloh's blatant peeking.
"What the hell are you doing?" Nevada's tone was still low, stabbing at Shiloh's chest who suddenly thought he liked the little guy more when he was lively.
"What do you want?" Shiloh casually asked, leaning on the trunk of the tree and obstructing the view of the other wolves who were casting sneaky glances at the omega.
Nevada rolled his eyes. "I want you to quit being such a creep and give me some privacy!"
Shiloh chuckled. "I already saw everything in the morning. When you were stripping in the open."
Nevada's lips pursed and a hand flew in an attempt to hit the other person, but it was caught mid air.
"White Moon already stated the conditions. If you didn't want to stay as an alpha to your pack, then what do you want in return?" Shiloh narrowed his eyes.
Nevada unconsciously gulped.
His scent came gushing out in a moment of being unguarded, but he did not realize it.
Instead, his omega instincts intoxicated the alpha who was close to him.
Shiloh added, "If you become mine, then who are you going to be?"
Nevada answered after his initial surprise at the question.
His whisper carried a fragrant breeze towards the person in front of him
"I want you to… personally make my position clear."
Shiloh inhaled deeply, then slowly put their hands down as he tried his best to exhale the captivating scent to calm himself down.
Inhaling too much was going to make him lose his mind.
"And what position is that?" he asked again, voice hoarse and low.
"That place beside you." Nevada boldly moved closer to Shiloh.
An ambiguous position where they were almost touching, but the bit of space between them still allowed the tiniest gap.
"I heard you still haven't found your mate yet."
