The pirates who had finally made it into the nest didn't even have time to breathe when already another problem was coming after what had suddenly happened to Kali. After all, even if the bugs hadn't heard them, they were in their territory which meant they could pop up at any moment. Five minutes was a short time to find a solution based on what they had learned just before through observation.
