Mysie, Lucas and Kali who had gone to scout had returned to where the rest of the group was waiting, each having discovered something. The news was not good, after revealing the discoveries it was the only thought that remained in everyone's mind. A strange looking tree was the nest of a huge grouping of evolved insects that didn't just include flies, all connected by a hive mind.
Yet the pirate crew realized that this was the only way out of the canyon that prevented them from exploring the island. Climbing the steep and dangerous walls was out of the question, and going around the ocean would take far too long. Night was not about to fall, so while some were in favor of moving forward and infiltrating the nest, others wanted to wait for no real reason.
