Chapter 18 - Kaldr!

Sapphire looked at her General, Karthus, who was looking at her, an incredibly respectful expression plastered all over Karthus' face. As Sapphire heard Karthus' words, a contemplative gleam flashed across her eyes, and a smile formed on her beautiful red lips.

"As expected of my son." Sapphire said, an immense sense of pride and fulfilment laced in her voice.

Karthus couldn't help but smile wrly. To everyone else in the world, Sapphire was the Crimson Witch Of Destruction, Grand Marshall of the Divine Demon Empire and the Unkillable Succubus Queen, amongst many other titles. Yet when speaking about her own son, Sapphire would morph into a completely different person, and such a difference truly astounded Karthus, yet he could understand the reasoning.

"You didn't come all the way here to just tell me something I could've easily found out did you?" Sapphire asked Karthus, her blood red eyes gazing at the General as a sense of pressure immediately weighted down onto his body, truly a testament to Sapphire's strength.

Karthus cleared his throat and immediately spoke, fearing that if he wasted any more time, something truly terrible may occur to him, "Grand Marshall, Master Flandre has sent a message saying that his journey is nearing completion, and he will return to your side within a few years at most."

Sapphire's face quickly went from the beautiful smile that was previously present to a cunning expression flashing on her face, and a curious yet excited glint flashed across her eyes and finally, a sly smirk remained on her face, a show of her emotions.

Karthus looked at Sapphire's smile and nodded his head, saying, "It seems Grand Marshall really wants Master Flandre to return as soon as possible."

Sapphire simply heard his words and chuckled, looking at Karthus dead in the eyes before responding in a nostalgic tone,

"Of course, it's time for Damon to meet his father."

Meanwhile, Damon had just completed his mission, killing all of the various Abyssal Contractors and Perpetua, the Noble Demon who was completing a deal.

Damon had just entered the Abandoned Factory, meeting up with Freya who had just disposed of all of the various guards within the Factory, leaving Damon and her alongside the kidnapped civilians who were still chained up.

"What are we going to do with them?" Freya asked while her gaze naturally turned towards the various kidnapped and imprisoned persons.

"I've already called in member's of my mother's unit to come and collect them, but first lets unchain them and organize them all." Damon said and Freya nodded, moving over as the duo began to free the chained up persons.

The people here were from a variety of races, some of them were Humans, some were Elves, and some were Dwarves but the majority were Demons. Damon freed them up and organized the persons, putting them in groups depending on their race and subgroups depending on their genders.

Once that was completed, Damon began walking off towards the stairs that led towards the Abandoned Factory's basement.

"Where are you going?" Freya appeared next to Damon, his senses not even able to pick her up. Freya hugged Damon's arm as she waited for his response.

"This is one of the headquarters for the Abyssal Contractors in the Divine Demon Empire, and is extra important as they conduct deals here. I wouldn't be surprised if there's something useful somewhere down in the basement. Besides, it never hurts to at least check." Damon responded

Freya nodded and let Damon go, deciding to look over the various recently released persons while Damon explored the basement underneath.

Walking down the stairs, Damon looked at the dim lighting that illuminated the hallway. Unlike regular bulb lights that were normal back on Earth, here in the Mana Centric world of Austonia, places were usually lit up by Magical Crystals created using Alchemy designed for illuminating areas.

This stairway was no different, illuminated with a green tinted light from multiple illumination crystals present. As Damon walked further down, he approached a gateway at the bottom of the hallway, a big door was present in front of him.

Damon shook the handle, but unfortunately, the door was electronic, needing a specific access card to enter. Damon went into his Eternal Storage Ring and went through the dead bodies of the Abyssal Contractors, eventually finding the needed access card.

Damon scanned the card and subsequently entered the room after the door swung open. Immediately, a stench of blood and death filled Damon's nose, causing him to furrow his browns in displeasure as he began exploring the room.

The room was quite simply, it was a hallway walking downwards yet on the left and right sides of the hallway held cells that were obviously used to imprison people. Within each of these cells, Damon could see the dead bodies of some persons of various races, and some persons didn't even have a full body, only specific body parts.

The entire area was soaked in immense blood, and maggots ate through the bodies. Damon frowned and ignited his jet-black flames, burning away all of the dead bodies and maggots, putting all of this to rest.

" Χειρισμός αίματος." Damon said out loud, and all of the blood in the room immendiately began slowly gathering , turning into a blood ball which Damon held, and immediately froze using Ice Magic.

"ΚΑΘΑΡΗ." Damon then said, and immediately a gust of wind and a splash of water appeared in the room, swiftly spreading to every corner of the surrounding area and cleaning it, getting rid of that distasteful aroma and making the surrounding area look much more clean.

Damon walked towards the end of the hallway and opened another door, this time spotting a control room. Damon entered the control room and looked around. Damon saw a variety of different files and documents laying around.

Damon gathered the documents and looked through them. Unfortunately, the documents held no information to where the other bases of the Abyssal Contractors within the Divine Demon Empire were. However, the documents did detail the variety of Demons who were conducting deals with the Abyssal Contractors.

This was incredibly important information as this allowed the Divine Demon Empire to kill or imprison all of the various persons who were secretly dealing with the Abyss. Damon placed the documents in the storage ring and began looking around, but unfortunately didn't find anything else.

Damon went towards the final room that he hadn't explored. Entering it, Damon felt an oppressive aura filling the room, but strangely the aura didn't seem focused on anything.

Damon looked around and immediately found the originator of the aura. A gigantic dead Wolf was present in the room, a deadly spear pierced through its chest.

"Elemental Fenrir." Damon muttered. Of all of the various types of Wolves, Fenrir's were by far the strongest and the smartest. They originated from the original God Slayer Wolf Fenrir, who had slaughtered over 20 Gods by himself in the Primordial Era, creating a legend.

Although the Bloodline of the Original Fenrir had dimmed, Fenrir's still remained as the most powerful and dangerous of Wolves, who when at their peak strength could even battle Dragons.

Damon looked at the Fenrir and began to think. During the previous seven ( 7 ) days, Damon had successfully broken through to the Early Stage of the Mana Foundation Realm and Early Stage of the Spirit Foundation Realm, an entire 1 Realm higher than he was at the start of the week.

With that recent breakthrough, Damon had successfully awakened many more of Ashborn's skills. Particularly, Damon awakened the Shadow Extraction Skill, which allowed him to create Shadow Soldiers and the Shadow Storage Skill, which allowed him to Store his Shadow Soldiers alongside other things.

Damon also awakened two Ruler Based Light skills, one of them a Area Of Effect Heal and the other a spell used for Sealing away things or persons.

Damon stood before the Elemental Fenrir and took a deep breath, preparing to bring the Elemental Fenrir back to life.

"ARISE!" Damon's voice sounded much heavier than usual, and echoed throughout the entire room as he channeled his power towards the Fenrir in an attempt to turn it into a Shadow Soldier.

"AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" A incredibly loud roar echoed throughout the entire room, making it shake as if it was an earthquake.

After a short while, entirety of the Elemental Fenrir had revived as a Shadow. Damon watched it, the Wolf towered over him, standing at around 4 meters tall. The Wolf looked absolutely incredibly, with an imposing aura and a fiece, majestic look. The Elemental Wolf looked muscular with powerful limbs. Its entire body was covered in a purple glow indicitive of him being a Shadow Soldier.

The Wolf's body was also covered in incredibly beautiful runes that emitted an Ancient Era, all of the runes in different colours.

"Your name will be Kaldr!"
