Kelvin had had his share of extreme emotions in his life, but this was the first time he had felt that he would lose the most precious thing in his entire existence; his raison d'etre, and he had felt an extreme level of helplessness from it.
"Are you okay?" he whispered to Amanda as even he, could not believe it, when he felt his voice crack. This kind of scare… was one that he had never had, in his life. He felt as if he had lost a decade of his lifespan after this.
He shakily got up and helped Amanda up as well, then he pulled her close… so close that, it brought her out of her stupor, and she felt like she would suffocate. But Amanda in her current state could understand him, so she just let him hold her tightly. They were like that until they heard another car stop by the roadside with the signature 'cab' sign on top of it.
They wobbled up the small slope and sat in the backseat.
