A Good Birthday

Marinette stood on her balcony, looking out at the view of the city. It was a fall morning, and Adrien's birthday! Of course, she had her birthday present ready, packed and prepared to deliver. The only thing wrong was that she was conflicted on bringing it to him. last year, Adrien's father had taken credit for her present, a handmade scarf that she had knitted, and Nino got akumatized! The next time she tried to deliver a present to adrien she got caught as Ladybug, and Chat Blanc happened! What if something like that were to happen again? She had also recently found out that Chat noir had the same birthday as Adrien! Anyways, she had a present for Chat as well, but she was thinking whether Marinette or Ladybug should give the present to him. He had no idea that Marinette knew his birthday, but she would feel bad if she didn't give him one as Marinette. Why not both? Before she could think of a good present for Ladybug to give him, she heard the familiar jingle of a high-pitched bell. "Heyyy mari!" Chat's head popped in front of her face as he swung upside down from his pole. "Hello Chat." she said, smiling. He jumped down and stood next to her, facing the city. Marinette looked over. "Hey Chat, i was wondering if i could ask you for a favour." he looked back at her. "Sure! Like what?" he asked. "First of all, happy birthday." She said. his ears twitched in a puzzled motion. "Who told you about my birthday?" He asked. "Not important. What's important right now is that i need to deliver a present, and i need you to help." she said, turning to face him. "Uhh... okay! For who?" he asked, turning to face her as well. "Adrien agreste! It's his birthday for your information, and i don't want anyone to f*ck it up again." Chat was stunned by how passionate she was about the subject, but before he could say anything she patted him on the head and said "So that's why i need you! i hope this can go smoothly...for once..." "uhh... okay-" he said, a bit shocked. "I'll just go get the packages now!" she said, running to her room, quickly grabbing the two gifts and then jogging back out. "Are those both for him?" Chat noir asked, strolling towards her. "No, one of them is for someone else. So can you take me? It won't take long!" She said, putting on her best puppy eyes. Chat noir smiled. "Sure! hop on." He extended his pole and held his hand out to Marinette. She took it, and he pulled her into his arms. He jumped onto his pole and they set off to Adrien's house. "So mari," he asked as they swung; "What sort of thing did you get him?" "Oh nothing special, i just made him something." She said, casually swinging her legs in the wind as they flew through the air. "Nothing special? If you made it, it's pure art." Marinette blushed. "Well thanks!" She giggled. They both smiled as they arrived at their destination. Chat set Marinette down and she walked over to the window. "Should i just set it outside...? I'm not even sure if he's home right now..." Marinette said nervously as she peeked through his window. "I don't think he's home. Even if he is, i'll make sure that he doesn't see you." Chat noir said, reassuring her. "Okay..." She said as she squeezed through the window and set the delicate package on Adrien's bed. She paused for a second, and then sprinted back to the window where chat was waiting. "Okay, let's get you back home." Chat said cheerfully. he hopped back on his pole and Marinette followed soon after. "So who's the other present for?" He asked, as he swung them both back towards the bakery. "It's for you! Don't tell me you thought i wasn't getting you anything!" She said. As soon as he set her back into her room, he hugged her. "Thanks Mari. You're the best." She smiled and hugged back. When they let go of each other's embrace, she handed him the box. "Open it now!" She said, as she plopped down onto her carpet. Chat sat next to her and carefully started to open the gift. Inside was a black hand-made beanie, with cat ears. Chat smiled and looked up at Marinette's proud beaming face. "i made it myself. hopefully it keeps your head warm during the cold season." She said, proudly raising her face. "Thanks! I love it!" He said, putting the hat on. "Well, thanks for helping, but if my parents catch us together again, i'll get in trouble." She said, shooing him out the window. Chat laughed. "Okay, I'll see you later. Bye Mari!!" he replied, jumping out the window. Marinette smirked, watching him jump away on his pole. She walked over to the window and shouted "Bye fuzz-brain!" As the view of him slowly faded away. She shut the window laughing. "Time to get ready for the daily patrol, Tikki!" She quickly Transformed into her suit, and set off to their normal meeting spot. Chat was already sitting on a roof, dangling his feet off the edge. "Hey kitty!" She said. His ears immediately perked up and he stood up to meet her. "Hi Ladybug!" "Ready for patrol?" She asked. He nodded. "Before we go, i want to give you your birthday present!" She got close to him. "Okay, What is it?-" Ladybug kissed him on the cheek and then patted him on the head. Chat noir turned pink. "Happy birthday. Okay, stop staring at me and let's go." She blushed and then turned around so he couldn't see her face. Suddenly, Chat hugged her. "Thanks Milady." He said Softly. She smiled and hugged him back. "Okay, but next year, i want another kiss except on the lips. Got it?" He smirked. Ladybug rolled her eyes. "I'll think about it." She said as they swung into the evening.
