Aether and Shanny began talking about Luke and his familiar...It seems like there is something off between them."It happens when we were in our fourth year. Luke was the president of the fourth year chosen ones and I too was the vice president. The behaviour of Luke you are seeing now is not something new, he has it since he enrolled into this academy, he always wants to get stronger and have all the power. He just doesn't care about other people and thinks of himself only till this day."
"And so the day of Familiar Choosing event also falls for us fourth years. As you know before this, only when you reach the fourth year can get familiar in this academy but it's different now." Shanny sighed and mumbled, "everything is changing, who knows what will happen sooner or later." Then she continued saying the story.
"On the day of the event where all the mana beast were shown...there was 15 in total, and the strongest one was Luke's familiar, the lion. The mana beasts were not given to us according to our power levels nor by us choosing them, instead...they were the one who choose us."
Aether then mutter, "Ohh! well, it's actually a good idea for letting the mana beasts choose you since if it chooses the one to its liking, the bonds between them might be even stronger."
"That's what we thought too and all of us have no problems with that. Every one of us stand in front of the mana beast who was in the cage which was open and all the mana beasts chose one by one. Although the mana beast was not on the lion's level but they are still strong on their own and everyone was satisfied with that too."
"And so, my turn also eventually came and I was also excited to see who I will get." Aether stares at Shanny's mana beast who was laying on the ground and continued listening to Shanny. " I was actually surprised and shocked because the one who approach me first was...the strongest mana beast which was present in there, yes it was the lion." Aether almost choked listening that "What? the lion was the one who chose you and not the panther," Aether asks with a shocked face.
"Yes, everyone was shocked too, even me myself was shocked and thought that I might be dreaming for a sec, but I was not and clearly the lion approached me, but all the excitement didn't last long until..." Aether looked at Shanny's face which was a bit sad and thinks what happens next. "Excuse me, but I planned to take the mana beast," "The voice came from someone who was standing beside me and it was the president who voiced out saying he wants the mana beast. Everyone was shocked and some started arguing that it shouldn't be given to him since it chose me as its partner while some said it should be given to him since he's the president and he is the one who should be having that. Luke was so persistent in getting hold of this mana beast."
"Even the mana beast itself refuses to go to him even after him asking...and it eventually came to the dean voicing out. With a soft voice she says " Luke, if you are so persistent in getting the mana beast, I will let you but there are two ways for one to acquire them, one is by letting the mana beats choose you and the second is by showing you the power and make it surrender to you, but if it didn't choose you even after demonstrating your power, you can forget it."
"Luke was the president of fourth year's Child Of Lights and he was already at the level of the fifth year chosen ones too. He made the mana beats surrender to him by force." Aether who was listening to that voiced "So that's why their bond is not so strong, it's a forced bond. Even the look in the lion's eyes was enough to tell that their bond was not good." Aether then looks at Shanny and asks "You must have hurt by that uhh, after all, you were the one it chooses first."
Shanny looks at her mana beast who was laying down on the ground and replied to Aether, "Yeah, it was, but it doesn't matter since I got him after that. He was the one who choose me after the lion." Shanny was smiling when she says that, it seems like she also really like her current mana beast.
Seeing that Aether moves closer to the mana beast and then he gets down and rubbed its head and it let him rub too. While rubbing, Aether mumbled to himself "It will get stronger too, it all depends on her, if she puts more effort this mana beast can become an AA Class sooner than later." Aether then stands back and says something to Shanny with a smiling face.
