Kalea shook her head with a small smile. "Nothing much; it's not that important." She got up to go back to her room. "Kai, don't you want to shower first? Tonight, I just want some soup—is that okay?"
"Of course. Just wait in the room, and I'll call you when it's ready."
A sweet smile stayed on Kalea's face, feeling the warmth of Kai's gentle pat on her head. But gradually, her smile faded, replaced by an unreadable expression. She walked slowly up the stairs to her room, her heart and mind waging a battle of uncertainty. Once inside, she stared at the neatly folded clothes packed in her suitcase.
