"Dariel and Zeline are on their way here!"
"H–huh?"
Kalea froze instantly, processing the situation. Meanwhile, Arthur was busy calling Dariel, and eventually, the call connected. Arthur was trying hard to convince them not to come. There was a bit of back-and-forth, but it was clear that Dariel was only following Zeline's wishes. Even the blonde girl's voice could be heard, insisting on visiting Kalea, her best friend.
"Lea, do you want to talk to Zeline? Maybe you can convince her not to come. We can go to the city instead," Arthur offered, handing Kalea his phone.
With hesitation, Kalea took the phone. "Zeline?"
[Lea! Why can't I come? I'm almost there, about thirty minutes away. Right, Dariel?]
"Why didn't you tell me first, Zeline?"
[Dariel texted Arthur two hours ago, but there was no reply. Since it took so long, we decided to just go. It's not Dariel's fault; it was my idea. Lea, is it okay? I won't do anything weird, I promise!]
