After they arrived at the village, Kalea quickly entered Kai's house, leaving Arthur struggling to carry their many shopping bags from the car. The first thing Kalea needed to do was calm her heart, which always felt uneasy whenever she spent time alone with Arthur.
"Lea! You're back?" Kai asked as he stepped out of his room, noticing Kalea just about to go up the stairs. Her expression looked a mix of concern and irritation. He had just finished showering, a bit confused as Kalea looked like someone holding back anger. "Are you okay?"
His attention shifted to the person entering the house—none other than Arthur. Arthur seemed ready to protest about Kalea leaving him behind without saying anything. "Oh, Kai," Arthur greeted nonchalantly, and Kai walked over to him.
"Let me help you with that, Mr. Jefferson. Did you guys buy a lot?"
