"Thank you, uncle! 15 dollars, right?" asked Kai, handing over two pieces of paper, but Jones only took 10 dollars from them. Kai furrowed his brow, confused. "Uncle, here, take some more."
"Ei, never mind. It's an old novel anyway, I just happened to find it."
"Ah ... thank you very much then!" said Kai cheerfully with a bright smile, revealing his neat row of teeth.
"By the way, how's your sister doing? Is she getting better?" asked Jones as he tidied up his books that were quite messy.
"Well, sort of," Kai replied simply with a bland smile. Hearing Kai's lackluster reply and his rapidly changing expression made Jones look at the man.
"Hey, she shouldn't just stay at home. Take her to the hospital again."
