Arthur never expected this to happen in his life.
He had long let go of Kalea, especially after what had happened between them. Since that day, he built a wall around his heart that only grew stronger. His life turned into a meaningless series of routines. The nightlife that once served as his escape now left him with nothing but emptiness. The women who used to come and go no longer caught his attention. Kalea was the only goal he had ever had, up until now. Even though, under the circumstances, they could never be together.
That was what Arthur thought.
"Juan, can we move tomorrow's afternoon meeting to an earlier time?" Arthur asked, his fingers still typing away.
Juan, who had just entered his boss's office to deliver the work Arthur requested, could only stare in disbelief. "That's too sudden, Sir. The client will surely reject it."
