Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10

After settling in, Prometheus began to go through the internet on the device he bought.

There were a lot of things he discovered and learned. Amongst which the most intriguing was the stock market.

Using his ability of foresight, he could see into the future and recognize which company's shares were going to go up and which weren't.

Using the money from the card, Prometheus was finally able to make more money.

He kept at it until the wee hours of the morning.

Once it was dawn, He decided to check in on his mate.

He had sorely missed her company these few hours and although he was engrossed in the stock market, every moment he wasn't working, he would feel himself aching for her.

He didn't have her contact information, so he decided to visit her in the mindscape.

The moment he entered there, he found her collapsed on the bean couch. It seemed like she had been waiting for him.

There were a lot of other things she had made inside the room. Probably while she was waiting.

There was another couch, a table, some paper on the table as well as some colored pencils.

She had been drawing a picture of him.

Prometheus' lips twitched as he observed the picture.

It did look similar to him. She was talented, he had to give her that.

But some parts of the pictures looked a bit unrealistic. Like his eyes. They seemed ethereal, like two glowing orbs of emerald. And his lips. They seemed to have a feminine shade of pink. Like they had been kissed raw.

He turned his eyes to look at Kahlan.

She was still reclined on the couch, but her eyes were wide open. She looked aggrieved.

"You abandoned me" she complained bitterly.

"Sweetheart" he sighed. He raked through his hair with his fingers. "I'm so sorry. I wanted to check up on you, but I was so busy."

She looked like she was not convinced. "Hmph!" she snorted and looked away.

Prometheus started. He didn't know what to do. Kahlan seemed really angry at him. He looked around and not finding anything, he imagined a beautiful tulip. The yellow tulip came to life within this room.

He walked to her and knelt to be able to reach her height. "Here," he put the flower in front of her.

"I'm really sorry Kahlan. I didn't mean to neglect you. "

She still showed no reaction.

"I promise never to do it again" he added.

Nothing.

Prometheus began to sweat. What was he going to do if Kahlan decided that she didn't want him anymore?

"I'll promise you anything okay. Just please look at me" he pleaded.

The girl finally turned to face him.

There was a glint of mischief in her eyes.

Prometheus suddenly realized that she was pulling a trick on him.

But he was a bit puzzled though… why would she do this in order to get something. If she wanted anything from him, all she had to do was ask. Even if she wanted him to commit suicide he would… just to see her smile.

"You've promised" Kahlan called out happily. "You can't go back on it."

Prometheus was an honest man. He sighed, and looked at his mischievous little mate. Was it really alright to play with his feelings like this? He was in real distress here and this was all it took?

"Okay." he compromised.

"I want you to join the same school I'm in." she said smirking satisfactorily.

That was all? Prometheus was shocked. He expected her to demand something extravagant. But this was all she asked for?

He began to analyze his mate again. Why was she so pure?

He was going to register at her school either way. Not that he needed the knowledge. He needed to keep her safe especially now that Hermes had his eyes on her.

Somewhere in Adam's Estate.

A beautiful and enchanting woman could be seen stepping down from an SUV.

There were several guards lined up between the car and the door entrance. Each of them looked buff and well-built.

Adam extended a hand to help her down from the SUV.

She ignored his hand and stepped lithely down. Her feet seemed to be floating in the air.

"Luna" Adam murmured. His hooded gaze flickered passionately as he stole glances at her.

He couldn't dare to look at her fully.

There was once a time when they could converse as equals. But she had tamed him, reduced him from a roaring and proud man to a simpering dog in her presence.

Indeed it seemed as if he existed to worship at her feet now.

She ignored him and walked down the pathway made by the men.

She entered the house and walked into the office room. There she sat on a thronelike seat that seemed customized for her.

She stretched her hand languidly and two lions pounced into the room. Roaring their might.

They moved to the woman's side and sat to her left and right respectively.

The lady petted their fur slowly, turning her head to Adam.

"Orion" she whispered softly. But her voice carried across the room. Orion's(Adam's) ears perked up.

He walked to her quickly with his head lowered. "Luna" he called out worshipfully falling at her feet.

The lady looked at him with mixed feelings. She had once adored him. Loved perhaps. But as a goddess of the hunt that she was. To love meant to conquer.

Conquering him was the most delightful thing she had done in a while.

But now that she had tamed him, she felt disgusted by the end product. Having this proud valiant man bow at her feet gave her a rush of thrill.

But it was an empty feeling.

It would have been better if he put up a fight.

Artemis (Luna) sighed while turning her face away.

"The child," she said languidly.

Adam (Orion) sighed. He thought he could cover it up and she would never find out. He had thought too much.

"She went missing in the Caucasus mountains. When she was found, the Skotάdi gem had lost its glamour." He reported.

Artemis' hand stilled on the lion's fur.

Her gaze turned sharp.

"Bring her here." She demanded.
