At that day, adam waited with baited breath as he stared at the screen of his computer wich displayed the countdown of the new, world shaking game, eternal choices. "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5! 4!" he counted while watching the screen intently. "wait, i need to start the headset first to log into the game! aghhh!" he grunted while grabing at his headset- wich, in a surprising turn of events, only had one grade, wich was also pretty cheap, that made the mystery company that made not only the headgear, but also the game, highly thought of by the public- and turned the power on while lying down on his bed. then, he put it on his head and saw a white screen with a text that said: loging in at 3... 2... 1, loging in... at that time adam, who had his hand on his chest to try and calm his racing heart, suddenly went limp as his hand fell down. meanwhile, adam, who suddenly appeard in a white space, almost tripped down and fell from the weirdness of the feeling of one moment lying down in his bed and the next standing upright. Although he played some full dive games before, none of them felt or looked nearly as real as this one. "Hello player" he suddenly heard a neutral voice, as a man(?) appeard infront of him. 'An elf!' thought adam excitedly, although there were ones in almost evey full dive game, as mentioned before this game looked real, unlike the other games, wich looked realistic, but that is still vastly different from real. The normal stats, wich are the only ones you can choose from, are:
Strength: your phisycal power.
Agilty: the speed of your thought process.
Speed: the speed you can move at.
Instinc: the speed and level of your instincts.
Vitality: the amount of beating you can take before you fall.
Endurance: how tough your body is.
Intelligence: magical power.
Wisdom: magical defence.
Mana: the maximum amount of mana your body can host and its passive and active speed of being restored.
"Coose wisely, the more stats you choose, the less you will get in each of them. but dont worry, you will get a set amount at each stat even if you dont choose it, and you will get a bonus in the stats realated to them, although they follow the same rule of 'the more there is the less each one get'. What do you choose?"
Thankfully for adam, he already thought through it before, and decided what his aim was.
"Agility speed and intelligence!" He said almost immediately. "So be it, now, for your race, you will be given a certain amount of races that suit your stat choice now, every race will also have a darker version. Your options are:
elf: gives a boost for agility, intelligence, perception (hidden stat) and one more random boost depending on the type of elf you will get, a random affinity/talent depending on the type of elf you will be.
Dark elves: gives a boost to strength, agility, wisdom and charisma (hidden stat), gives the talent puppet master: can reanimate one body at a time as an undead slave, it retaines its memories of its past life, you cant use it on pepole higher level than you, on bodies that had been dead for over a week (evolves with proficiency) and it will only have 50% of its original stats, can use the same body indefinitely, can not reanimate the same body twice, can let go of the undead at any time for the slot to be opened again, the body will turn into ashes.
Sky walker: gives a boost to mana, intelligence and speed, gives the talent sky walk: compress the air to hard constracts, instinctively activates when in the air unless consciously not. Gives low wind affinity.
Storm bringer: Gives a peak affinity to the unique element, ragnarok lightning: a dark red lightning wich is full of the darkness element.
Light guardian: gives a slight boost in intelligence, the skill light guard: create a barrier from the light element, the skill heal: healing the target from phisycal damage depending on the amount of mana used with almost no limit, requires phisycal contanct with the target, gives mid light affinity.
Shadow wanderer: gives the talent shadow wander (locked) gives the talent $&#% %$&#$% (locked)."
cal's voice seemed to 'glich' as he said the name of that skill as his eyes seemed misty for a moment and then he continued like nothing happened.
"gives supreme shadow affinity (locked), current affinity: peak, gives supreme $&#% affinity (locked)."
again, the same thing happened, cal's voice seemed to 'glitch' as his eyes became misty for a second before returning to normal and he continued like nothing happend.
"What do you choose?" asked cal, and this time it took adam a long time to aswer, uncertainty feeling his voice, but also excitment as he said: "shadow wanderer"
