Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: System

[Congratulations! You have activated your vampire system]

'What…is this…' Andrei muttered in disbelief, his glasses dropping from the side of his face,'' Did it just say…vampire?'

The red screen with the message was still stationed in front of his face.

Andrei stayed silent for a while before rubbing his eyes and pinching his face.

The red screen suddenly disappeared.

Andrei, seeing this, broke into a giant grin.

It was a dream!

[Please key in your system's name]

…Or maybe not.

Andrei stared blankly at his screen and placed his hand on his forehead.

'I must be having a fever'

Nope.

'I might have been reading too many books.'

Nope.

Andrei's mind went blank for a moment before he managed to snap back reality. Andrei smiled as tears started rolling down his cheeks.

'What is this bullshit…' Andrei asked while 'smiling'. He had an extremely silly expression on his face before he collapsed, tears still falling down his cheeks.

Most people tend to want to stand out or be unique, but not Andrei. Andrei liked it blend in and be as normal as possible. But the more he did so, the more he stood out, whether it was his grades, looks or anything possible. He originally thought that scoring high would to be know as a bookworm, instead, it only gave him more attention.

You might ask, then why didn't he start scoring poorly since then?

Well, apparently, after seeing how well he scored, Andrei's parents, relatives and Teachers started praising him and in order not to disappoint them, he kept scoring high grades, getting first place in every single test in the whole level. In short, he would rather get more attention than letting people down.

Andrei often wonder why people want to stand out since it would have been mush easier to just stay under the radar. Though it seems not many will think so.

But now, Andrei is not normal at all.

By the time Andrei woke up, he still had tears welling up in his eyes, constantly mumbling to himself, mainly blaming God for being so cruel.

It seems like he would need some time to chill.

Welp, see you guys in the next episode then!
