Mira laid silently in her bed, not moving, and barely making a sound. She was trying to process her situation. All the while Indigo laid next to her, holding her from behind. She didn't feel uncomfortable, but she did feel something that confirmed his feelings for her. She could tell from the past few days he liked her; she just didn't realize how much. She moved her hand across her belly, thinking what the next few months would be like. She never thought she'd ever end up pregnant. Doctors told her she was infertile, and her body couldn't carry. Now here she was pregnant with Cyro's baby, unsure what that meant for her. Would the baby come out deformed, would she die from it, would she lose the baby? These were all questions on her mind that she wished answered. No one had any answers that she knew of either. She didn't even know how it was possible for her to have even been compatible in the first place. She tried to focus to see if she could feel anything, but there was nothing. Only the feeling of Indigos hot breath on her neck and his furry body pressing against her.
She tried to scoot over so she good fall asleep better but found herself being pulled back. She closed her eyes ad listened to the sound of the grounders screeching into the night. She swore she could hear them getting louder. Something was happening inside and outside the walls of this city, and she couldn't help feeling like something horrible was coming. The whole night she didn't sleep a wink. As soon as Alzie and Indigo woke up, they made her more fish and got a bath ready for her. She felt a bit uncomfortable as both seemed to think it was a bad idea to leave her alone and neither wanted to leave. The whole thing was weird as she slipped into the bath. Alzie wasn't interested in her, but he made her feel weird with him standing there silently. Indigo was now also her mate, but she didn't know him that well and she already had Cyro. She sighed as she washed her body running a hand up and down her chest. She got the feeling of being watched and looked back at Alzie and Indigo.
Alzie was turned away, however Indigo wasn't taking his eyes off her. As soon as their eyes met, she immediately turned back around. She could feel her cheeks heating up, as she tried to pretend nothing was happening. She knew Cyro was making a sacrifice when he asked Indigo to be her mate. She wanted to stay loyal to Cyro though until he was set free. Then discuss what having two mates would mean. She didn't deny she had an attraction to Indigo too; however, she is carrying Cyro's baby. She quickly finished and got dressed in her green dress and sat down next to the fire to try to warm up.
"I want to go into the garden today to gather some herbs." She spoke carefully trying to read their reactions as they sat down. "Do we know when they'll hold Cyro's trial?"
"Most likely by the full moon." Alzie reached out and held her hand, and for once she felt he was being genuine. "It'll happen soon, we just need to get our plan together and keep taking care of you."
She heard a growl coming from Indigo causing Alzie to pull his hand away and move toward the window. She felt sorry for him, he must really care for Cyro to be this way. Indigo wasn't helping either. She gave Indigo a sharp look, who only returned the same look with a smile. It made her freeze up and look away. She needed to keep their relationship strictly friendship and away from romantic.
"If anything, we just need to tell you, our plan." Indigo got up and moved closer to her, as if to show his claim on her. "That is if we can even trust you. After all it was you who had the idea that caused all of this."
"Indigo." She whispered as Alzie slouched and look of pain on his scaley face.
She really did understand why he did the things he did. If she thought someone was trying to take her love from her, she would have done the same. She stood up and walked to him, he was tense under her touch. She wished she could comfort him better, but seeing as she wasn't that close to him, she didn't know how.
"Come, the garden will make you feel better. We can go see Cyro later tonight." She led Indigo and Alzie out the door.
They didn't make it far though before Vilen crossed their paths. Indigo was obviously the most upset, as he already was growling again. She groaned inwardly as she was realizing he was going to be a bit hard to handle. However, she also felt the same towards Vilen so it wasn't that bothersome. He looked smugged and like he had already won. She didn't dare acknowledge him either, she wanted nothing to do with an evil conniving beast. She could see him from the corner of her eye reach out to touch her. However, Indigo and Alzie both blocked his path as they walked by. Indigo making sure to bump into as he went by. She didn't like being rude and she was a really docile person, it took a lot to push her to be hostile. Vilen seemed to have a talent for pushing her to that point.
"You can't avoid me forever." He called after them. "The full moon is in two days."
She pretended not to hear him as she walked faster out the door. Her heart was beginning to race, and she didn't want to be around anyone when her panic attack takes over. The fresh air of the garden was like an instant relief to her tightening chest. The smell of the plants and dirt filled her like that of the sails on a boat on a windy day. She loved her plants and the feeling of the dirt under her nails. She happily jumped to the nearest herb section looking through them. She wanted to find some that would help with pregnancy and nausea. She grew excited when she found some peppermint and ginger. She can use the peppermint and ginger in some teas, or the ginger as an ale. Now she needed to find some red raspberry leaves and some cranberries. She gave the herbs she collected to Indigo and began looking everywhere for the berry section. She was beginning too loose hope when Alzie walked up with a hand full of cranberries.
"Oh, thank you!" She gleefully took them. "Can we collect enough to make juice?"
"Sure," his smile was kind and the moment they shared was just like that of when they first met.
He went to get a basket as she waited happily placing one in her mouth. The juice from the cranberries was a bittersweet and always resembled the taste of wine to her. Cranberry juice was her favorite juice and was helpful with UTIs. She heard they were pretty common during pregnancy and so drinking cranberry juice was her way of avoiding that. She was going to have to find some dandelions later on, but she was good for now. She wanted the raspberry leaves because it could help strengthen her uterus, though she'd only drink one cup of it. She wondered if the females here knew of these things. Indigo seemed curious as he looked over her shoulder at the berries in her hand. She picked one up and held it out, offering it too him. He opened his mouth and she placed it on his tongue. She giggled when his face scrunched with the first bite. She figured wolves were only carnivores, however, he was a beast man. Not full wolf. She almost found herself falling for him, thankfully Alzie had showed up in time and interrupted them.
