Cyro hurried down the hall, Alzies words echoing in his head. Who cares if she's human, and he won't let anyone take her away. They can try to do all the tests that they wish, but they would have to go through him first. He finally reached her room and paused at her door. He didn't want to show any sign of the argument him and Alzie had. Slowly he opened the door. She was still asleep. He let out a sigh of relief and continued inside. He didn't wish to wake her. The doctor said that she put too much strain oh her heart. Had he known she was ill he would have carried her too. Wouldn't have let her push herself so hard. He bow his head, disgusted with himself. He sank into the chair next to her bed as a female fox came waltzing in. She didn't pay much attention to him as she started checking Mira's vitals. He let her do her thing and waited for her to leave. Waiting for her to wake up was torture. He grabbed her hand in his, holding it to his face. She was so soft it was unbelievable. Everytime he touched her, shock would over take him. When she sat on his lap, he wanted to do nothing more but explore the softness of her body. How easy it was was squeeze each part.
When she first collapsed he thought it had been from the venom on his horns. However, when they doctor was taking care of her he found no sign of the venom. He later had seen she was scratched when he pulled at her skirt. When the doctor discovered this, he thought he's take her and study her then and there. He hadn't slept all night going from room to room. Trying to make sure they were both okay. She looked so peaceful laying there, the first she wasn't snoring. She was beautiful. When he saw the stripes on her breast, he thought he was seeing things. But she really did have pale white stripes. He wondered if she had other stripes. Humans seemed to be full of beautiful patterns. The sound of the door opening jolted him from his thoughts. He moved her hand away, but still held it. The doctor was back. He was tall like Cyro, and slender. His reddish orange fur was like a red sunset. Unlike the other foxes he had black instead of white. He wore a black skirt, with some sort of pouch. He really didn't trust him, his demeanor was off as well. He didn't like how he was nonchalant all the time and how he practically teased every female he could.
"Well, she's doing better." His voice even rubbed him the wrong way. "But I would like it if yall stayed here for a few days. To make sure she's ok."
"Sorry, but we'll be leaving as soon as possible." He half grinned at the fox, who seemed to be staring right at Mira.
"I see and your cheif cleared this?" He looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"He's technically not my cheif." He growled "My tribe would have cut me out ages ago if they could have."
He nodded at Cyro and headed out the door. Every fox he ever met always seemed to have a hidden agenda. They were sneaky, and manipulative. He couldn't leave Mira's side while here. He didn't trust a single one to not try something. When he left Alzies room, he had caught that little fox eves dropping. He didn't say anything though. The feathers he wore around his neck was a symbol of power. He didn't want to cause attention to fall on them. Atleadt not more than what they already had. The look on their faces when they saw Mira being carried in. Everyone came crowding around at get a look at the human. He made a decision right then and there to try to minimize her going out and about. He didn't want her to have to deal with that kind of attention. Some looked at her with disgust, others were shocked. He knew she would falter under such stares. He could feel the feeling of sleep creeping on him. He quickly got up and head out to get some water. She would be thirsty when she wakes up, also hungry. He found a kitchen and began gathering food onto a plate with a pitcher of water.
There didn't seem to be a lot of beasts around at this time. Maybe they were all at the cheifs hut, discussing Mira. He hurried back trying to get back to Mira afraid that the doctor was there now. He didn't make it there though. Instead he found himself running into the same fox from earlier.
"Oh, sorry." The fox tried to help clean up the food now on the ground. "I just wanted to ask you something, if you don't mind."
"Why?" Cyro glared at him, making sure to watch his every move.
"Well, you seem to be pretty close with Alzie." He rubbed the back of his neck. Cyro could tell he was nervous.
"That's Alziemar to you." He kept his voice cold, he want this fox to understand his dislike of him.
" Uh, yes, I see." He didn't seem to back off. "I was just wondering how close the two of you are."
"He's like a brother." With that Cyro went back to the kitchen for fresh food.
"Is he your brother?" He growled as the fox began following him
"No, just really close friends." He grabbed more food and turned to face the fox again. "Now, take a hint and scram."
"Well, aren't you a sour beast." He placed his hands on his hips, giving him a sassy look.
Cyro just rolled his eyes and pushed past him. He definitely wanted to leave as soon as possible. These beasts were becoming quiet annoying to deal with. He will discuss it with Mira as soon as she wakes up. Hopefully that will be very soon. He was sure Alzie was already planning to find a way to keep them here. The sooner they leave the better. He could already sense trouble coming their way. Who knew keeping a human safe could be so hard.
