I started packing my bags.
They told us that we would come back in about a week and that meant that there were only two bags to fill.
It still felt like a nightmare from which I would wake up soon. This was not actually happening, was it?
This was our home.
I was halfway done packing when Q walked back in to the room.
"You pack slow. Do you need help?" She asked and looked at my half full bags laying on the bed.
Q was done packing in ten minutes after we started. Now, she was getting impatient.
"You can go without me." I said. "We'll meet there anyways."
"Half of them us ready to go, they can go first." She said taking a seat on her bed.
"Just go already, and let me pack in peace. I don't think we will even drive in the same car. "
"Hey. I'm trying to help."
"No, you are distracting me, and I need to get my taught in order. What if I forget something?"
"Its not an inhabitable island," she lowered her voice, "and they are rich."
"Is that what you are thinking about!?" I exclaimed.
She shrugged "It is a bonus…"
"I think you should go." I started to push her out the door.
"Wait. I still need my bags!" she laughed and went back to get her bags.
"See you there!" Then she added "Will it be today or tomorrow?"
I wanted to yell back that I was not taking THAT long.
When I was done, half of the warriors had already left and with them half of my pack. They insisted on us leaving our cars here and catching a ride with them.
Maybe they tried to make sure running away from them would be harder?
I walked out the room in to the hallway and heard others chatting and packing. It was pretty quiet, so only couple of us were left.
I looked over the railing and listened to what was happening on the first floor. There were warriors talking among themselves and walking around. I counted only 7 of them.
I quietly headed up to the third floor.
Thankfully it was empty. All 4 doors on this floor had been left open and I made my way to the one on the left.
I could smell that they had been here, walking around and looking for something.
The first room was a small living room with a balcony that was left open. A faint wind was coming through it and making the white curtains sway a little.
I went further into the room and went to Alexanders bedroom.
It was rather simple. It had dark wooden furniture with gold ornaments. In the back was a large closet and I opened it.
It had clothes neatly hanging on the matching hangers and they scraped along the beam when I pushed them all to one side.
I walked in the closet and closed the doors behind me.
I stood in the darkness for a moment and then started to feel around the wall.
The third back board was left loose, and I pulled it up a little. I crouched down and felt for the opening in the wall.
Between all the stones there was a hole, and I slipped my hand in to it. I felt for the cold knob that was on the end and rotated it 3 times. Then I heard a soft click and the secret door opened slightly. I pushed it open all the way.
Before closing it I put the clothes back in order and fixed the wooden board.
It was pitch black and even I couldn't see anything, but I didn't need to. I took exactly 5 steps forward and found the stairs going down.
I knew this place well. All the warriors knew about it. There was a secret passage leading to the Alphas actual office and the display office. Also there was a door leading outside the house.
I walked down the stairs quietly and soon was back on the first floor.
I turned left and found a little hole through which I could see in to the Alphas office.
I saw the Lovell Alpha there. He was standing over Alexanders desk and looking through some papers.
I could see him clearly now, because of the lighting.
He was also dressed in the same deep blue uniform, only a lot more decorated. His long fingers were grazing along the lines of the text that he was reading.
"Alpha!" The head warrior with the sharp nose called and walked in.
"Are they done packing?" The Alpha asked.
"Almost. Should I go and hurry them up?" He asked and stood up straighter.
"No, give them some time."
"Do you need my help here?"
"No, we will properly start tomorrow."
"Are you suspecting something?"
"I can't be certain yet, but this is indeed strange."
I wanted to stand there and listen more, but I had to get back soon. They wouldn't wait all night.
I started to move further down.
6 more steps and then I turn to the left.
I was finally in the Alphas actual office.
Did they really believe that the Fleur pack's house that was 156 years old would have everything on display?
I felt around for the box of flashlights and clicked it on. Letting the light beam run around the office.
There were long shelves with documents stacked in between books. A tall black shelf, which had exactly 17 thick black notebooks and a matching one stood on the sturdy desk.
They were all left by the previous Alphas.
The desk had a modern chair that seemed a little out of place. In the middle of the room stood a vintage sofa and a glass coffee table with candles.
There were candles everywhere and if I could stay longer, I would have lighted them up and spent my time here, but I couldn't.
I quickly approached the desk and grabbed the first thing I saw on it.
It was a small black notebook. I put it in my pocket and put back the flashlight.
I couldn't take more things because I was afraid that they would go through my bags.
"I'll be back." I whispered and went back up.
I again stopped in front of the office. It was empty, but I could hear loud voices.
"Where is she?" One of them was asking.
Me?
"Did you look around the house?"
"Quit just standing there, let's go back up!"
I heard quick footsteps and then it was silent again.
I didn't have time to go back up again and walked out of the darkness and into the display office.
I quickly walked across the room and got out.
Closing the office doors I sighed, no one had seen me.
Then I rounded a corner and heard a voice from the back.
"Where were you?" The Alpha asked.
