The sudden shriek from Beruka woke everyone up. They were scared in the middle of the night by sudden voice!
"Where did the voice come from?"
"Was it coming from the carriage?"
The carriage bearer, musicians and nanny were in utter confusion.
"How could it be from the carriage?", the wedding nanny said furiously. Everyone knows that the eldest of the House of Aemon is probably mute as they have never seen her face nor listened to her voice.
"Lad, go and check the surrounding. Is someone following us"
Just as she said this, sudden strange voices of night animals was heard. It was already very dark and such noises were scaring everyone.
In given circumstances, separating from the group was a bad idea.
"I -- I think we should continue walking", says the wedding nanny as she observed the situation and shivered from the darkness of the night.
Inside the carriage, Beruka was grinning as she saw everyone scared of their wits.
Just as everyone started moving, the wedding nanny suddenly cried loudly while pointing in a certain direction, "My God, I have guided all of you to a wrong direction. We were supposed to that lane."
Everyone was sweating.
"There is still some time till the end of auspicious hour, we must run to the Duke's Palace.", said one of the guards.
Inside the carriage, Beruka gave a light snort which she could only hear. She thought in her heart, "Ah wedding nanny, you are so old yet you still dare to play tricks on me. Who bought your cheap self to delay my arrival? Who is it that wants to ruin me?"
With his one sentence, everyone got up and started running with all their might to the Duke's Palace.
Beruka had had a very rough ride to the Duke's Palace and they finally managed to reach there!
But her luck still was not great.
The gates of the palace were tightly shut and there was no sign of celebration. It didn't look as they were expecting their new bride, the new consort!
The wedding nanny gave a crafty smile and quickly hid it.
"Ah Ah Ah, curse this nanny for being old and forgetful! Dreadful! Dreadful! This nanny deserves punishments for missing the auspicious hour. Terrible Ah Terrible! It's all so terrible. Tch, let's go back to the Estate of House Aemon."
Just as the guards were ready to turn back with carriage, a loud chilly voice came from inside the carriage, "Hold it. If anyone dares to moves, this lady shall not be polite anymore."
