Chapter 69: Final Exam Arc (3)

~Third POV~

[Days Later, UA High School, Class 1-A, Japan]

Fast forwarding to the final week of June where Class 1-A have finally done their written portion of the Final Exams. Reaching the final 3rd day of the written exam Aizawa-Sensei raised his hand as he stoically said to them, "All right, put your pencils down. The last person in each row brings the answer sheets to me."

Momo stood up taking the papers from the students with Mina muttering in a thankful tone, "Thanks so much for all your help! And you too Ren for the extra tips!"

Denki whispers in his voice of appreciation in a thankful tone, "Yeah! I didn't leave anything blank knowing the subject!"

Ren simply smirked, giving a mock salute as his attention was now on the bigger game at play in an excited tone, he thought, 'Just like that, our three days of written exams were over. Now, it was time for the practical. I wonder who's my opponent?'

[UA High School, Practical Exam Area – Center Plaza, Japan]

The students of Class 1-A wearing their Hero Costumes finally arrived at the Practical Exam Area – Center Plaza revealing the teachers of UA as Aizawa spoke in a stoic tone, "Now then. Let's begin the last test. Remember, it's possible to fail this final. If you wanna go to camp, then don't make any stupid mistakes."

Jiro soon spoke in a confused tone seeing all the teachers here stating the obvious, "Uh. Why are all the teachers here…"

Aizawa soon asked his students a question in a stoic tone, eyeing them carefully, "I expect many of you have gathered information and believe you have some idea of what you'll be faced with today."

Denki, being overly excited, muttered out loud in an overdramatic pose, "We're fightin' those big ol' metal robots!"

Mina happily followed along as she voiced out loud in a cheerful tone, "Fireworks! S'mores! Here we come, camp!"

Popping from Aizawa's combat scarf Nezu appeared in a cheerful tone raising a paw into the air, "Actually, this year's tests... will be completely different, for various circumstances have demanded a revision to the exam format!"

Jiro, Sero, and Kendo exclaimed seeing Nezu pop up, "Principal Nezu!"

Momo asked in an alarmed tone while the other classmates had beads of sweat from the sudden news, "You're changing things?"

Nezu, getting down using Aizawa's scarf with No.13 assistance, addressed the class in a cheerful tone, "The tests now have a new focus. There will be Hero work, of course. But also teamwork and combat between actual people. So, what does that mean for you? You students will be working together in pairs, and your opponents will be one of our esteemed UA teachers! Isn't that fabulous?!"

Oachco voices everyone's thoughts in a surprised tone, "We're... fighting the teachers?"

Aizawa nodded his head as he began to recall how the event would play out having a memory flashback…

[1 Week Earlier, UA High School, Teachers Meeting Room, Japan]

Before the final week of the Final Exams, the teachers began to discuss amongst themselves the latest event occurring in planning the event. At the head of the table, Nezu spoke in a neutral tone about the issue, "With the connection between the Hero Killer Stain and the League of Villains, criminals everywhere may become much bolder."

Few nodded at the idea, with Snipe suggesting in a stoic tone about the practicality of the final exam with evident concern, "It'd be best if we could start preparin' for that before it happens. As a school, we should be taking every precaution. If fights against villains are gonna continue to intensify in the future, then havin' the kids train against robots ain't practical. Originally, we used 'em to avoid complaints about people gettin' injured in the entrance exams, but they're just not challengin' enough."

Everyone briefly nodded as Aizawa held a file for each student on the table as he stoically said to them, "We can ignore the complaints. Let people say whatever they want."

Midnight raises her hand as she voices her complaint of the possibility in a neutral tone, "This sounds like it could be problematic."

Cementoss soon followed up on Midnight's words in a neutral tone and said gazing at Midnight as he said his words, "I understand why you want to change the exam, but having students fight us? Even if they're in teams of two, is that a good idea?"

No.13 also agrees with her fellow teachers Midnight and Cementoss on the subject in a concerned tone, "Yeah. I think it's a bit unfair."

Present Mic also agrees with his fellow teachers in an upbeat tone, stating the fact, "If we win too easily, we won't be able to give them actual grades, yo."

Lady Nagant soon voices her thoughts on the matter in a neutral tone her eyes glinted with concern, "Of course, we could consider that and give the students an advantage."

Aizawa soon turned his head to Nezu as he stoically said to him, asking for his opinion, "Principal, what are you thinking?"

Crossing his arms together, Nezu agrees with a light nod, explaining himself in a neutral tone gazing at his fellow faculty members, "I believe I agree. We need to change the practical exam to reflect the current times. How do we ensure the students aren't put in life-threatening situations? The answer is simple. We must push them. We make sure that they're as strong as possible."

Listening to his explanation Midnight nods her head in agreement, "That makes sense."

This is followed by No.13 agreeing to the notion after Nezu explains to them, "I agree."

Aizawa nodded his head, agreeing as he began to discuss the teams in the files he held in his hands in a stoic tone, "Right, then let's talk about the teams. First, Todoroki. He's doing quite well but relies too much on brute force. And Bakugo, letting all that pride and anger swell within, is bad at forming team-ups. This I'm leaving them to you, All Might. In this case, I didn't base them on ability or class work but rather on their relationship."

The teachers all nodded their heads as they agreed voicing out loud, "Sounds good."

Moving on to the next file, showcasing each and everyone's versus match based on their unique Quirks or abilities. All the teachers nodded at the matches provided…

Shoto and Bakugo, with their personalities poorly in how they get along, must get All Might, who outmatches them and forces them to work together.

Shinso and Hanta's restraining capabilities are ineffective because both can't get close to Midnight, or else she'll put them to sleep with her Quirk.

Snipe Quirk [Homing] can hit stealth types like Toru and Toga. Something they agreed once Lady Nagant had to not participate for personal reasons Hound Dog voiced his concern about allowing her to participate, bringing up her mental issues.

Yui and Kirishima can cause communication errors. However, they must face Cementoss with his Quirk [Cement] having no drawbacks, along with a clashing personality.

Ectoplasm's [Clones] can suddenly appear anywhere and attack Fumikage, who's weak in close-range combat but is paired with Asui who seemingly has no weakness and is level-headed in dangerous situations.

Power Loader can hinder Tenya and Kendo's mobility by manipulating the battlefield and setting traps.

Eraser Head can take advantage of Momo and Ren's overreliance on their Quirks.

No.13 can exploit Ochaco and Yuga's nausea-inducing Quirks and suck up with her [Blackhole] Quirk anything they try to through her.

[Voice] outclasses and overpowers other sound-based Quirks like [Earphone Jack] against Jiro and having Kinoko with her [Mushroom] Quirk lacking any offensive capabilities.

Nezu can easily outsmart Denki and Mina, with both having poor control over their respective Quirk, along with their poor grades.

Each agreed to the results of the matches as Nezu thought to himself in a curious tone, 'I wonder… if [Erasure] can eliminate Ren's [Gamer Path] Quirk. This would be a good test to see how he handles this match. As much as having a battle royal would help him gain EXP, I can't show 'that' much favoritism since his classmates need our help.'

[The Present, UA High School, Practical Exam Area – Center Plaza, Japan]

Returning to the present, Aizawa spoke in a stoic tone, gazing upon his students with a smirk on his face as he clenched his combat scarf, "Additionally, your partners and your opponents have already been chosen. They were determined at my discretion based on various factors, including fighting style, grades, and interpersonal relationships. First, Yaoyorozu and Yuki are a team. Against me."

This caused the two to look genuinely shocked by the results. But everyone was surprised as Aizawa mentioned the next two in a stoic tone, "Then we have Todoroki paired with Bakugo. And their opponent is..."

*BULGE*

Shoto and Bakugo gasped in shock, seeing their opponent glow up in a masculine tone, "I am here to fight! Your opponent will be me! You'll have to work together to win… so come at me, you two!! Hahaha!!"

Bakugo merely growls but grins at the challenge. Shoto looked serious as he spoke in a stoic tone, "We're up against All Might?! This won't be an easy feat…"

Both the powerhouses of Class 1-A soon got over it with Nezu explaining in the matchup in an excited tone, "And now, let's announce the teams and the teachers they'll be fighting in order!"

Nezu soon began to explain who would be fighting who in the exact order. Each of the students had varying expressions of their matchups.

1st: Cementoss vs. Kirishima and Yui

2nd: Ectoplasm vs. Asui and Tokoyami

3rd: Power Loader vs. Kendo and Ida

4th: Eraser Head vs. Momo and Ren

5th: No.13 vs Yuga and Ochaco

6th: Nezu vs. Mina and Denki

7th: Present Mic vs. Jiro and Kinoko

8th: Snipe vs. Toru and Toga

9th: Midnight vs. Shinso and Hanata

10th All Might vs. Shoto and Bakugo

After explaining the matchups, Nezu spoke in a confident tone, raising his paws as he exclaimed, revealing a handcuff, "To complete the exam, you'll have 30 minutes. To win, your objective is to put these handcuffs on your teacher. Or you can win if one of you manages to escape from the combat stage."

Denki, hearing this, mutters, having his hand on his chin, speaking his mind out loud in a curious tone, "So we've either got to capture the teacher or run away. It's basically like the combat training."

Listening to him, Mina raised her hand, asking the teachers in a confused tone, "Yeah, but is it really okay to just jet?"

Nezu grinned as he raised his paw-like thumb, "Yup."

Present Mic began to wrap in a confident tone, gesturing his hands on DJs while making various poses, "It's gonna be much different than that combat training y'all went through earlier. After all, you're up against people way better than you!"

Jiro simply raised an eyebrow as she responded stoically at Present Mic's claims, "Better? Really? Wait, aren't you just the announcer?"

Kinoko looked nervous as Present Mic yelled at her claims in an offended tone, "Hey, watch your mouth, girl – have some respect!"

No.13 nodded her head agreeing as she spoke in a serious tone helping her students, "This time, your exam will be very similar to a real battle. As strange as it is, please think of us as villains."

Snipe curtly nodded his head, agreeing as he spoke in a serious tone, eyeing his opponents, "Assumin' you come across your enemy. If you think you can win against them, then fight. However..."

Aizawa finishes Snipe's words in a serious tone, eyeing Momo and Ren with a neutral expression, "...in instances where you're outmatched, it would be smarter to run away and find help. Ida. I'm sure you understand."

Ida nods his head, speaking in a serious tone with his fist clenched, recalling his internship slip-up, "I won't make that mistake again. I will pass this test and prove that I'm a hero!"

Ren merely spoke out loud in a curious tone, eyeing his opponent, "So we fight to win... or run to win."

All Might agrees in open arms, explaining in a serious tone, eyeing his opponents, showing the Ultra Compressed Weights, "That's right! It's a test of your decision-making skills. But with these rules, you're probably thinking you're only real choice is to flee. That's why the support course made these super-clever accessories for us."

Revealing the Ultra-Compressed Weights, Ren muttered out loud, cutting Present Mic's introduction in a neutral tone, "Oh! You mean the Ultra-compressed weights! I saw that Mei from the support class won a contest. The ones that add about half the body weight to user's physiques."

Present Mic yelled out loud at Ren in an offended tone, pointing at him, "Hey! Explaining and narrating is my job!"

Ren merely chuckled as All Might continued putting on the support gear around his ankles and wrist, "Correct! It's not much, but they will eat up our stamina and make it harder for us to move around. Oh, shit... These are heavier than I thought."

However, Bakugo glares at the handicapped as he speaks in a disappointed tone, "Do you think we need a handicap to win against you? Well, think again."

All Might laughs at Bakugo's words as he speaks in a serious tone, "Haha! This'll be fun."

Finished with boasting, Aizawa soon spoke in a stoic tone, eyeing his students with a neutral expression, "Let's begin. The teams will take the practical exam in the order you were called. We have a stage prepared for you. Kodai, Kirishima. You're up. Those waiting their turn to fight can either watch the exams or try to strategize together as a team. It's your choice. That's all."

Hearing that, everyone began to disperse, leaving till Aizawa paused with a grin, mentioning one fact to Ren and Momo, gaining his immediate attention in a smug tone, "Oh right. One more thing. During our match, I won't be wearing those restraints to even out your multiple Quirks Yuki-kun. Better have a game plan."

Their eyes widened hearing that as Aizawa walked behind nonchalantly as Momo asked in a serious tone, "That… that might be troubling. Got a game plan, Class Rep?"

Turning her face towards him, Ren nodded, expressing a serious look and placing his hand over his chin in a serious tone, "Yeah. We'll need to plan with the time we have before our round. Let's see the others while we strategize."

Having that in their head, they began to strategize a way to win against Aizawa, aka Eraser Head, filled with determination…
