Chapter 110: Provisional Hero License Exam Arc (1)
~Third POV~
[4 Days Later, UA Highschool, Gym Gamma, Japan]
Four days have passed with everyone working on their Ultimate Moves within Gym Gamma. Ren and Izuku were asking their classmates about their modified Hero Costumes. They discussed the Hero Costumes' effectiveness.
But that was when King Vlad entered behind his class and followed into the Gym Gamma talking to anyone nearby in a stern tone, "That's enough Class A! TKL is supposed to be ours this afternoon! Eraser. Get going, now."
Taking notice of Class B coming inside, Aizawa sighed as he explained in a stoic tone, "We've still got about 10 minutes left. I aim to use our time efficiently."
That was when Neito began to talk his usual smack talk about both classes participating in the Provisional Hero License Exam. However, Aizawa spoke up bluntly, "Not quite. Classes A and B are registered at different exam sites."
Neito froze hearing that as King Vlad began to explain in a neutral tone, his attention was directed towards the students: "The standardized hero licensing test is held every year at three different locations around the country in both June and September. To avoid direct competition between students from the same school, it's common practice at all schools to have different classes register separately at different times or places."
Neito sighed a breath of relief but continued to mock Class A smugly, "What a shame that I won't get to beat you all with my own two hands!!"
Class A merely sighed at Neito's antics, but Sero talked out loud with noticeable beads of sweat as he said nervously, "At all schools…? We usually don't pay them any mind, but I guess we're gonna be competing against other schools."
Everyone nodded as Ren muttered, contemplating the other schools in a curious tone, "Yeah, we're also ahead of the typical licensing schedule… Wonder how strong the other schools are…?"
Aizawa sighed as he began to explain the challenges the students would face in a serious tone, gaining their attention, "It's a small number of students who gain their provisional licenses as first years. You'll be up against some students who've experienced very advanced training. This test will bring together students with polished Quirks you've never seen. Though the exam contents are unknown… I assure you that this will be an uphill battle for everyone. Don't psyche yourselves out too much but be aware of what you're facing."
Everyone nodded their heads, agreeing as Ren began to think in a confident tone, 'The Exams are unknown? To you folks, but not to me. But just in case one can't be too careful with unexpecting changes…'

[Nighttime, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance, Japan]
Soon, nighttime came as the girls in Class 1-A were on the first floor relaxing their bodies after a shower. Some were drinking their drinks as Mina groaned in a tired tone, "Bwahhh! They're working us to the bone every day…!"
Stretching her body outward, Jiro said in an equally tired tone, "That's why they call it accelerated training."
Momo placed her hand over to a bag containing snacks as she said in a stoic tone, "And we only have one more week."
Seeing as the girls are making progress, Kinoko asked Momo curiously, "How're your Ultimate Moves coming along, Yao Momo?"
Turning her head to the mushroom girl Kinoko sipping her mushroom-flavored drink, she replied in a defeated tone, "Well… I have some ideas in mind, but my body's not quite there yet. I still need to work on enhancing my Quirk a bit."
Nodding at this Toru soon asked Asui curiously about her Ultimate Moves, "How about you, Tsuyu?"
Turning her head to face her friend, Asui bluntly answered as she finished taking a sip of her drink, "I'm working on perfecting my more frog-like techniques. They'll be sure to shock even you, Toru. And you, Ochaco?"
Listening, she smiled, raising her fist while holding her drink in a confident tone, "I think I did well completing my [Spacewalk]. But for the next one, I'm not sure… Lately, my mind's been all over the place – "
That was when Toga and Mina cheekily said, "It's love."
Ochaco froze as she began to slowly float up, accidentally using her [Zero Gravity] in a shy tone, "Huh? W-What?! Dove? Never seen one! Not me! No, No! No, that's not it, really! I swear I'm not… seriously… oh, I don't know…"
Both began to tease Ochaco as she floated up in embarrassment. But Asui soon butted in in a blunt tone, "No sense in prying if she's not ready. Ribbit."
Momo nodded her head, agreeing, followed by Kendo saying in a tired tone, finishing her drink, "Right. We have an early day tomorrow, so I think it's time to say good night."
However, Mina, the romantic, argued against it as she complained in a defiant tone, "Huh?! No way! I still gotta know!! Try changing the subject, and I'll flip it back to romance, damn it!"
As the girls argued with each other, ideas they eventually turned to bed soon as they had early training exercises to create their respective Ultimate Moves…

~Ren Y. POV~
[Days Later, Takoba National Stadium, Japan]
The days of training passed as the sounds of the bus taking us to Takoba National Stadium filled everyone with determination. The time spent training for the day came, and I smirked as I leveled up.
Sparring against All Might certainly helped. Even if it was painful mastering my Quirks...

That was when the bus stopped Aizawa stood up as the doors opened talking to us in a stoic tone, "Everyone out. We're here. Your test site, the National Takoba Arena!"
Everyone was carrying their Hero Costumes as we began to exit, seeing the building. The Takoba National Stadium is a modern building. It is large enough to accommodate well over a thousand hero students, as well as various environmental settings for simulation purposes.
We all exited outside with me, hearing Jiro sigh in a nervous tone, "Getting nervous now."
Izuku stayed by my side as he looked around in a surprised tone, "So we're doing this in Takoba, huh?"
Shinso moved forward as he couldn't help but fret a bit, looking nervous as he said, "Still no clue what these tests are about. Can we earn our licenses?"
That was when Aizawa came over, reaffirming our concerns as he tried to motivate us in a serious tone, "Shinso. It's not a matter of whether you can. You will. Earn your provisional licenses by passing this test, and you won't be mere eggs anymore… but full-fledged hatchlings… reborn as semi-pros! Show them your best."
Hearing his confidence in us, everyone in our class yelled out loud in a motivated tone, "Yeah! We're gonna hatch from those eggs!! Time for our cheer! Now time to go Plus… Ultra?!"
At the end of our shout, someone interfered in the last-minute cheer. Turning around, I saw it was Inasa Yoarashi and the uniform getting some attention. Not only that, the second years of Shiketsu High were noticing us.
Even Bakugo recognized them as he spoke surprisingly for once in a neutral tone, "UAs in the east. And Shiketsu's in the west. Theirs is one of the few elite hero courses that can rival UA."
That was when Aizawa muttered his name, which caught the student's attention as he began to explain who he was. And then we see someone call out to Aizawa-Sensei in an upbeat tone, "Eraser?! Is that you, Eraser?! I saw you on TV and at the Sports Festival. It's been too long since we last met face to face!!"
Aizawa looked a bit scared as Izuku began to explain to me who she was in an upbeat tone, "The Smile Hero, Ms. Joke! Her Quirk is [Outburst]! She can force those around her to start laughing, effectively slowing their thoughts and movements! The methods she uses to take down villains are insane!"
Raising an eyebrow, I see one of Ms. Joke's students from Ketsubutsu Academy introduce himself to me with a friendly tone but with a smug expression, "My name's Shindo! UA's had it rough this year, right? The hits just keep coming but is it true you're the successor of All Might?!"
Of course, someone is gonna bring that up. But I smiled all the same in a calm tone, greeting the guy, "Yeah. But the way you talk tells me your info is gathering on me or my classmates. Your smug expression says a lot. But if it's a challenge you want, who am I to deny it?"
He only grinned as he spoke in a confident tone, letting go of my hand, "Good. You've got the strongest will of all. I believe the heroes of tomorrow need that kind of fortitude you have. Best of luck."
Nodding at that, the introduction of everyone was about done as we began to head to the lecture hall. When everyone was done changing, I soon gathered everyone by calling them to inform them of the traditional UA, crushing in a calm tone, "Listen up. I've done my research on this Exam. Every year since the UA Sports Festival shows off our Quirks, all other examinees are aware of them, their usage, and most importantly, their weaknesses. Therefore, there's an unofficial tradition in this exam that all other participants team up against UA High, in what's known as UA Crushing!"
Their eyes widened at the news as Mina whined at the news, "That's so unfair!"
Shinso nodded his head, agreeing as he voiced his complaints in an annoyed tone, "Yeah. How are we supposed to fight them all off?"
I merely grinned without my helmet on as Toga asked the obvious with a raised eyebrow, asking in an obvious tone, "I get a feeling you already have something cooked up. Care to share your master plan, Class Rep?"
Grinning, I explained in a bit of an excited tone my plan to them as they got close, listening to me, "That's the neat part, you don't. At least if you follow my instructions, then I'll get us through the exams easy as pie. And I'll show you one of the trump cards I've been saving since my trip from America."
They were interested in my tale Izuku immediately agreed with an interested tone, "Oh? Do you have a trump card that you haven't told Melissa or Mei for your support gear? I'm in."
I flinched hearing that as Denki agreed to my deal in an excited tone, "No way I'm opting off such a good deal!"
Sero nodded his head, agreeing with a cheeky grin in a confident tone, "If the Class Rep has a plan, I'm all ears."
One by one, they agreed with light nods and muttering of affirmations. Even the powerhouses in our class, Bakugo, and Todoroki, nodded. With that, I grinned as I explained my plan to them…
They were a bit shocked as I explained to them that I could simply use [New Order] to freeze my enemies in their tracks. But they all had a grin on their faces since everyone was going to pick us off…
Then, they should be prepared to be picked off as well. Target us, and we destroy you. I'll lead all my classmates to victory…
And I do mean ALL of them. No bullshit, they failed because we SUCCEED failure isn't an option!
