Harper narrowed her gaze at Roland Bretford. She stood by the back office door, trying to hold the door while keeping the gossip queens from hearing anything.
Roland sat lightly on a work desk, his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his handsome face.
The back office had better air conditioning than the studio itself. One of the many reasons Harper dragged the infamous CEO there was to talk about what he was doing and why he had suddenly appeared at Harper’s workplace.
“This wasn’t part of our deal,” Harper whispered. She gestured for him to maintain the same tone when he responded, pointing at the door behind her.
Harper was one hundred percent sure; half of the staff present at the studio had their ears glued to the back office door.
Gwyneth wasn’t part of those, but she was undoubtedly pretending not to know. Playing innocent was one of her many talents.
