Beck's POV
It isn't long before new footsteps cross the hallway, I'm about to get out of bed to ask Wendy to stop bothering me when I notice that the resonance of the footsteps is different, so I relax on the bed and stare at the ceiling in time for my twin to open the door and slip quietly into the room.
"So…" Willow starts to say, coming toward me and sitting on the edge of the bed with her legs crossed over the comforter. "I just saw Wendy come out of the room looking like a basilisk, her cheeks red from crying. I don't know if I should congratulate you for putting Wendy in her place, or if I should slap you instead for treating her badly."
I can't help but grimace and then I look at my sister's feet. She has climbed onto the bed in her boots, which are dusty and damp, probably because she is returning from some outside watch.
I push her feet forcefully off the bed.
"I told you not to put your shoes on the bed," I demand.
