"You are always in your head," she speaks from her bed and I snap out of it, exhaling heavily.
"I didn't mean to wake you," I say as I approach her slowly.
She snorts but the action makes her cough rattling her whole body. I help prop her to sit upright as comfortably as she can be.
She is paralyzed from the neck down and this has taken a toll on her, you can see the fight she had in her eyes is long faded.
"You have been in trouble left and right," she says as soon as I sit on the chair beside her bed. I am not at all surprised that she knows about my whereabouts, that is who she is.
"I am okay," I say as casually as I can, but my head remembers how Trevor burst through the doors coming to save me.
"I know that look," she notes and I shake my head. "But yes, I know you are okay. Just be more careful next time, you always seem to get caught."
"And how have you been?" I try to divert the topic to her.
