We are looking at each other for the first whole minute without saying a word.

We talk at the same time and then end up laughing.
"You go first," he goes.
"How have you been?"
"I should be asking you the question," he doesn't seem as calm as I thought he was. Looking at him, the hard lines around his mouth, and the way his eyes are sharply looking at me I can tell he is holding himself back.
So he knows about my little outburst.
"As you can see, I am okay. I was worried that you have been avoiding me," I pass it off as casually as I can and take a glass of wine.
"I have tried to understand you, I have but you are one woman I believe now that I will never really get to know, or grasp what goes on in your mind," the comment comes out so vehemently and with so much emotion I sit back.
