She is shocked, and I am smug.
"What are you talking about? I had to get away because I loved my life," she tries to cover up her slip but I already caught it.
"that might have been something you could tell someone who is not calling your bullshit but let's cut to the chase, you got pregnant again, and Norman has no idea," I say and she stands up frustrated, all while running her hands down the jeans she is wearing. She is anxious.
"Is he alive? Or she?" I ask her.
"She has nothing to do with anything! Any of this!" she explodes and then she realizes what she has done. She has proved I was right and she is covering her mouth now. She comes back to sit, and then looks at me, pleading.
"Please, don't involve her with any of this. It was a mistake coming here, I was blinded by revenge I didn't realize how much I could sabotage the life I have come to build for myself, please," she holds my hands in a plea and I remove my hands from her grasp.
