"Good evening father" Ariel greeted her father, her eyes fixed on something else that wasn't him.
John Mills looked at her, shook his head and waved his hand indicating she wasn't needed. Ariel heaved a deep sigh of relief. Her soul was gladdened.
Maybe Avril didn't tell their father about today's incident or else he would have scolded her already if not punish her for hitting his favorite daughter.
Ariel found her way to the door leaving his room, and walking over to hers. Her gaze fell in the general hall where some members of their pack were busy watching some kind of show being displayed on the TV that didn't interest her.
If she wanted to join them everyone would leave the room for her. She was being avoided like a plague. Her presence irritated everyone but fuck them, she didn't give a damn.
Reaching for the doorknob, she opened the door, closing it as she got in. She walked a few steps, putting the light on only for her to see the devil incarnate in her room.
"You aren't welcomed here, get out!" Ariel bellowed aggressively, her hands pointing at the door.
"Before I do that, you have to apologize for hitting me today?" Avril demanded adamantly, a wicked grin forming at the end of her lips.
Ariel's hands balled into a fist, she couldn't believe her sister right now. She caught her banging her so-called boyfriend today and now she was requesting an apology from her as if she wronged her.
She was the one that was wronged, she was the one that needed to be apologised to and not her apologising to Avril.
Ariel wanted to hit Avril in the other side of her face where she didn't get hit earlier but if she tried that now with their father around, he was going to roast her to death and feed her corpse to the vultures. So nope Avril was in charge now meaning she had to control herself.
She released her fists and calmed herself down before she does something that she might regret later. Avril observed her movements closely and smiled when she saw Ariel release her fists.
"You want to hit me again right?, So go ahead" Avril leaned closer to Ariel, bringing the other side of her face to Ariel's challenge.
Ariel stared at her sister's face and then her eyes. The only thing she saw in her eyes right now was her boyfriend banging Avril but she just held her anger in, looking away from Avril.
Avril snorted with laughter, clapping her hands when Ariel looked away from her.
"You can't do it?" Avril asked Ariel, pointing at her face. Ariel fumed inside of her with rage but she couldn't do anything about it.
Why did their mom have to die when it was her turn to be brought into this world? Why did it have to be her and not Avril. At least if she was in Avril's shoes and Avril in hers. Life would turn out better for her.
"Just leave Avril".
"And what if I don't want to?" Avril smirked at her, "what are you going to do about it? Huh, what the hell are you going to do about it?" Her hands pointed at Ariel's face.
Ariel seriously had no idea what was holding her back now from breaking her sister's nose. She didn't care if she was the weakest in their pack, she just wanted to beat Avril up so bad now.
"I came to talk to you about Carter since you ran off like a scaredy pants when you saw he and I" she paused for a second, "Making love to each other" She finalized her sentence.
Those words disgusted Ariel. Did she just hear the word 'love' from Avril's lips?. She must be joking. She had known her sister Avril for ages and she definitely wasn't the type of werewolf that loves.
She fucked both werewolves and humans, any one she found interest in so the word 'love' definitely wasn't for her and that might be one of the reasons she hasn't found her mate yet because her wolf doesn't want to settle yet, with her banging almost every male she set her eyes on.
But Avril told her Carter's wolf accepted her which might be true and might not be true. Ariel knew the kind of sister she had who would say anything to make sure she got hurt by it.
But if that was true then it meant that her sister already got a mate first before her. She really needed to find a mate soon or else she was going to be the only female in their pack without a mate and that would make her really look like an outcast they saw her as.
"Carter says he's sorry, that he wanted to tell you about us earlier in person before you found out by yourself today" Avril said to Ariel who's gaze was fixed on her but her mind travelled somewhere else.
"I finally found a mate before you sister" Avril let out an evil chuckle, Ariel's mind journeyed back to her immediately at those Avril's last words.
"You found a mate Avril?" Ariel asked her with sarcasm in her tone, She scoffed, her hands formed akimbo on her waist. She stared up at the ceiling of her room and back to her sister.
"You must really be out of your mind for real this time Avril" Ariel growled at Avril fiercely. Avril must be kidding.
"You snatched my boyfriend away from me and now you are calling him mate?" tears tried welling up in her eyes but she fought them back hard.
No, she can't cry and even if she wanted to, not in front of the devil incarnate called her sister. She would see her as a weakling again and that she was no longer going to be.
"Carter has-".
"Fuck you and Carter" Ariel cursed at Avril, cutting her short of words. "And tell him it was nice being his girlfriend but that shit is over" With those last words, Ariel left Avril and into her bed she laid leaving Avril speechless.
Avril stood at that particular spot for moments, watching Ariel who had slept off. Annoyed with the way Ariel had cut her short of words leaving her stranded.
She walked out of the room, almost ripping the door off, as she smashed it hard against the wall.
Ariel raised her head, making sure Avril really left the room. She laid her head back on the soft pillow, giving in to sleep hoping that tomorrow would be a better day.
