The sunlight streaming through the gaps in the windows, fell on a delicate face, illuminating it with a beautiful glow.
The doors to the room opened and three maids stepped inside. One of them approached the bed and peeked inside the bed curtains. She gently shook the sleeping figure.
" Miss, wake up. It's already morning."
Neelakshi stirred in her sleep. She turned around facing the other way. The maid sighed and then with a playful smile, whispered in her ears,
" Miss, your favourite dishes have been prepared for breakfast this morning. If you don't want to taste them, then i will give them to Young master!"
"NO!!"
Neelakshi sat up with a jolt. The three maids shared a quiet giggle. It was the story of every morning.
"Maya! it's not fair!!" Neelakshi complained with a pout.
"Not my fault. You don't wake up otherwise. Now please take a bath and dress up. You are awaited at the dining table!'
"Fine!" She huffed with annoyance.
At the dining table, she was greeted by three smiling faces. She was overwhelmed with guilt and grief upon seeing them. Oh, how she regretted her choices in past life! She hadn't listened to her parents and abandoned them. But at the end, her whole family was executed before her eyes and she could do nothing to stop it.
"Look who's finally here! I thought I would have to starve today!" A young man, features similar to hers exclaimed with feigned anger.
"Why don't you mind your own business my dear brother?" She replied wittily while sitting down.
"And how it isn't my business? I am hungry and dad declared that I am not allowed to eat!!"
"Well that's because Papa loves me the most, Brother Karthik! Isn't it papa?"
"Of course my child" Eshwar, their father, replied with a smile.
"Enough, the food will get cold. Finish eating first!" Chitra, their mother, said sternly though she had a big smile on her face.
