Kaley's POV
Katy and I walked in silence for a while. If you told me that one day I would have to endure awkward silence with my baby sister, I will tell you that you are crazy.
"Do you have to do this?" I asked her. "This new pack is good for us. You could go back to school and make something of yourself and…"
"Kaley" she said in a stern voice and I was forced to look at her.
"My mind is made up, Kaley"
I exhaled.
I thought setting my dead father on fire was the most difficult thing I will ever have to do until now. Until watching my eighteen years old baby sister pack up everything she owned into a backpack and in her palm was a bus ticket.
"Where will you go, Kaitlyn?" I asked her and grabbed her hand.
I squeezed it gently. She recoiled slightly, tried to hide it with a shrug but I saw it.
My sister loathes me.
"Where will you go?"
"I don't know. The world is my oyster, I guess. It will be an adventure"
