Emily's POV
As I let go of the bar, Waylen stepped out of the way as I landed perfectly on the ground.
He never had any intention of catching me. It was a ploy to get me to let go. I turned to look at him, my eyes saying words I was yet to say out loud.
"You said you were going to catch me. Scout honor, remember?" I fumed over the broken promise.
I could have broken my neck or legs or maybe both at the same time but my fine lying husband is oblivious of that!
Jeez!
I was still fuming yet his eyes danced with mischief like he was trying not to laugh, I have no idea why my death escape would be amusing to him.
Seriously, it was one thing for him to realize what I have known all along deep down that I wasn't good enough for him but it wasn't okay that my thwarted death amused him, the jerk!…a very handsome jerk I was undeniably in love with nevertheless.
