I drifted in and out of focus as I staggered toward the palace gate.
Thank goddess I made it. Just a few more steps, Just a few more seconds and my mission would be accomplished.
I made a mental note to myself that if I ever got impaled again, I would leave the bar inside.
My strides were mismatched and I was scuffling my feet.
Without having the opportunity to brace myself, a child jumped on me with a welcoming smile and worried expression.
I knew this child. It was my adopted sister.
"Leila" I called out softly and her laughter echoed.
But something was wrong. My tired mind was trying to tell me something.
I fought hard for focus and got my ass kicked.
"My brother" she murmured.
Wait! What was Leila doing in Zolcovia… halfway across the world?
Then it dawned on me slowly, I was hallucinating. I was beginning to see things that aren't there.
