Chapter 1 - 1. He's dead

„Huhuhu, he died, Juliette." I said to my sister when I got to the part of the book, she warned me about. „Told you, but you didn't listen, did you, little bro? "Juliette didn't even look up from her laptop, the disrespect of it. „I kno-oh-ow, but he just wanted to help his family and he's been beheaded just like tha-ah-at." I whined since it was only me and her in our room. My sister just gave me a pouting face. "Oh, how surprising that that would happen." She mocked.

"Come on, you cried when they killed Andrea in Secret witch society." I said, throwing my hands in the air. "I'm sorry, but she was at least pretty, smart and she looked really hot in a business suit, which this character isn't in the slightest." Juliette said, sticking her tongue out to show disgust. "I get it, you're a lesbian, but that doesn't mean you can be so mean to Sebastian."

My sister looked at me as if I'd gone crazy and then went back to writing whatever she was working on. "If I hadn't known that you are 100% straight bean, I would have thought that you have a crush on him." Juliette smiled, happy that she could tease me about something, and I blushed from embarrassment. "Of course not, I would never love a guy, the bible directly forbids it." I said, offended, and she just rolled her eyes. "I swear, you should've picked the school for holy people-or whatever they are called- instead of IT and ramble about it in a church."

"They're called preachers and not holy people, I'm truly offended. Have a nice day." I said, walking out of our bedroom, slamming the door behind me. "Sorry, that was an accident." I apologized and continued walking away.

Juliette on the other hand just shook her head upon this scene. 'Geez, he's already 19 and still acts like a 12-year-old.' She thought, finishing her essay called: Which toys are safe. 'Finally, this took me like 30 minutes.' But upon looking at the clock, she discovered, that it was longer than that. "53 minutes?! You got to be kidding!" she groaned, turning the device off.

On the other end of the house, Lucas was complaining to his best friend, Alyssa through his phone. "-and she just said that it's a shame and didn't give a slightest frick that I'll never see Sebastian in the book again; stupid Angelo and his friends." Alyssa sighed on the other end, knowing very well that Lucas will not let go of this very easily.

"Listen, buddy, I get that the main protagonist's best friend and some other wannabes are pricks, but it's just a character in a book, he's not real so don't worry about it." Alyssa said and an idea popped up in my head.

'That's right, he is a character in a book and that means I can do something about it.'

"Thanks for the advice, bestie, but I need to go do something." "Yeah, no prob-wait a second, you're not going to use-" *Beep*

I hung up as fast as I could because if she'll tell captain, that I want to use the portal we found years ago, I will be in a lot of trouble.

I grabbed my backpack, stuffed in some necessities (like a toothbrush, toothpaste, and food for at least a week just in case), the list of rules we must follow when traveling through dimensions, and -of course- the book, in which the story was written in case I'll need it and I rushed past Juliette, who came to see what the ruckus was about, and out the door. "Where are you going?!" she yelled after me, concerned. "I'm going to save Sebastian from corruption, see you, sis!" I yelled back, catching a glimpse of fear just before I turned my gaze ahead of me.

'He can't be serious!' Juliette thought, slightly angered by Lucas's action. 'He's actually going to save his damsel in distress -or rather a dude in distress- while being the one who will surely need saving.' She scoffed and pulled out her phone.

She dialled a very familiar number, (having to call it almost every single weekend, thanks to the whole team using the dimensional machine as if it were a toy; much to the captain's dislike) and put it to her ear.

"Hello? Ah, Juliette, what happened this time?" A woman's voice sounded from the device. "Hi, Leafy, sorry to bother you, but my brother seems to have a crush on some guy in a book he read and now he's rushing to save him." Juliette said apologetically. "Don't worry, I will watch over him." The woman on the other end said and the girl felt relieved. "Thanks, it means a lot."

"What are guardians for, hm ;)?"
