“I—what?” my father stutters, confusion flickering in his eyes. “Who told you such a thing?”
“Adrian did,” I say with confidence. “You know, no one had ever told me why there is so much tension and animosity between our packs. Adrian was the first person to do so.”
Dad scoffs and shakes his head, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “He told you all of that, did he? He told you we sent rogues to attack his pack?”
I nod. I can feel my confidence starting to slip away as my father continues to watch me from across the coffee table. The look in his eye tells me that everything I just said is wrong.
“I—yeah, he did.”
“Of course he did.” He shakes his head again, and a soft chuckle escapes his lips. “That’s a typical Adrian lie for you.”
“What does that mean?” I snap, my confusion bubbling within.
