I popped my head out of the bedroom and asked, "Where are we going?"
"Somewhere you won't guess." Michael had a mysterious smile on his face.
I had to say; he had completely piqued my curiosity.
I had never been on a date before and was looking forward to where Michael would bring me.
I kept asking Michael where we were going in the car, but Michael kept his mouth shut and sidestepped my questions.
I kept coming up with all sorts of guesses, but Michael didn't give me any positive or negative answers, and I could tell from the corners of his mouth that he was enjoying my questioning.
He wanted to surprise me, and it was supposed to be a good time, but I felt that I had somehow become irritated by Michael's silence, and I rolled down the window to let the cold wind calm my mind.
This was my first date, and I wanted everything to be perfect.
