[Candidate suitable to become the Host.]
[Would you like to integrate with the MAGIC GENE SYSTEM?]
[Yes/No]
When I saw those words appear in front of me, I felt rather delighted. There was a reason for it.
In my past life, I have read a lot of web novels, especially the ones where the poor protagonist who gets bullied has terrible luck; his life changes when he acquires a system. If that is true, what is there to think about accepting it.
'Yes,' I thought in mind without giving it a second guess. What is there to second guess? My life is already shitty. I need every advantage I can get, even if the price of getting is high.
[Host accepted the integration of the Magic Gene System.]
[Integrating the System with the Host…0%...10%...25%...50%....75%...90%...99%...100%]
[Integration of the System with the Host is successfully completed.]
I could jump; no, I wanted to jump with joy but couldn't. If only I was alone at this moment, I would have already cried with joy.
My life is finally going to change for the better. With the system, I could become strong and rich; I could take care of my mother and sister.
There is no one need to go far in time; let's check what the system does first.
'System'
{Status} {Inventory} {Tasks} {Shop}
As I thought about the system, an interface opened up. Looks like I have four sections in my interface. Let's check them one by one.
'Status'
--
Name: Oliver Crowley
Race: Human
Bloodline: None
Class: Warrior
Rank: F, low-level
Level: 1
Exp: 0/100
Skills: None
HP: 100
Mana: None
{Attributes}
Strength: 5
Stamina: 5
Speed: 3
Intelligence: 5
Attribute Points: 0
--
I can see my status with the system. One usually needs to use the CHECKER to see this status. It is one of the functions of MG Watches. There are many variations of MG Watch, depending on the company that manufactures them and the price cost.
They cost a minimum of 10,000 Space Dollars and go beyond millions of dollars.
These watches are considered an all-rounder as they have the functions of smartphones as well the CHECKER and spatial storage. They also have an advantage in the wild as they can survive a few attacks from beasts. The spatial storage feature determines the cost as the price rises with the increase in the area of spatial storage.
Huh, what is a bloodline? I had never heard about it before. Hmm, let's see what it is and how to acquire it. Probably it's an added benefit of having the system.
I mentally asked the system, "What is a bloodline system?"
[Bloodline tells you the beasts that you can transform into. Bloodlines can be acquired from beasts you killed but not possible from all beasts. There are two sections here, one is acquired, and the other is integrated. The Bloodlines you acquired from the beasts come under the acquired section. You can integrate them with yourself or sell them. Once you integrate them with yourself, they are permanent, and you can't extract them to sell. If you try to do that, it will incur death.]
"I can sell it? What does that mean?"
It looks like I can't ask the system about everything. Some things I have to figure out. I'll check about it when I return home.
Next, 'Inventory'
--
[Empty]
--
It's literally empty. There is nothing there, but it would be helpful when I go hunt beasts. It would make life easier not to carry around the carcasses. It would not only be a burden to carry them back but also would invite other beasts and the greedy.
Moving onto the next section of the interface, which is the missions tab. From the web novels I read in my past life, for completing the missions, we would be rewarded. Every novel had its own variation of system and missions tab. It was hard not to drool in the class of students, thinking about what rewards I could get from the system.
'Missions'
--
*Daily
*Non-Daily
--
Hmm, there are two classifications of Missions, Daily and Non-Daily. Even a fool could understand their difference.
'Daily'
--
>> Complete the tasks below: (0/5)
Pushups (0/100)
Sit-ups (0/100)
Run 2 kilometers (0/2)
Eat 1 kg of meat (0/1)
Drink 1 liter of water (0/1)
Reward: 5 attribute points, 1 Strength, 1 Stamina
Punishment: Reduction of a random attribute point by 1
--
Looks like normal system missions from the web novels. When people eat and work out, the increase in attribute points depends on what they do, and they won't necessarily increase from a single workout. With this system favoring me, I can get stronger quickly than others and increase the attributes that I lack.
'Non-Daily'
--
>> Reach E-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, Wolf Bloodline.
>> Reach D-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, one level-up card.
>> Reach C-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, five level-up cards.
>> Reach B-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, ten level-up cards.
>> Reach A-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, Hydra Bloodline.
>> Reach S-Rank Warrior
Reward: 20 attribute points, Magic Gene Serum (Ultra).
--
What is this?
Is it for real?
The rewards for completing the non-daily missions are sick. It looks like I'll be awarded 20 attribute points for each mission completion. Moreover, there is an extra reward for each mission completion.
"System, what are those Level-up cards?"
[When the Host uses them, they instantly level up depending on the card used.]
"Instant Level up? Does that mean I can skip levels if I wanted?"
[Yes, Host, when you use a level-up card, you would jump to the next level, but the Host should remember if you use the card when you need only one Experience point for level up, the card shall grant you only one point.]
"Thank you, system, for informing me about this."
This tip was indeed valuable. I would have wasted my card otherwise.
'Shop'
--
[Error…requirements not met to access it.]
--
Tch, it looks like I can't access the shop right now. From reading all those novels, they get unlocked after the protagonist reaches a level or by doing something special to unlock it. Anyhow, even if I got access, the items won't be free, and I have nothing to buy something with.
I'll look at it in the future.
---
By the time I came out of my daze, every student had already completed their checking. The headmaster was speaking; when did he enter the class? It looks like I missed something.
"The students who have the mutation for magic would be transferred to the Magus Academy. The others will be divided and placed in one of the three sections based on their warrior rank. The top class, i.e., class 1A, will receive better resources and don't say it's not fair. No one said the world is fair; blame yourselves if you want to blame someone.
This doesn't mean the top class can slack and do whatever they want. At the end of every month, the last three of 1A have to compete with the top three of 1B, and the last three of 1B will compete with the top three of 1C.
For each match, the draw will be random. The loser will go to the lower class while the winner to the top class."
After the headmaster ended his speech, everyone left for their homes.
