She had heard the story a lot of times from her colleagues and what had resulted in her getting fired.
So she was at least grateful that the man before her hadn't threatened her, which had resulted in him earning some good points from her.
But the same couldn't be said when she comes face to face with the other party, Mr Durand.
Of course, there were justifications and rules which rationalized her actions. But were the rich ones who cared for such rules anyway?
After all, why care for one when you could afford to break it ' literally?
Honestly speaking, she didn't want to face any old fox. So after some contemplation, she finally gave in as she breathed out in resignation.
'Thinking about it like this, Mr Philip doesn't seem to be like the rest of them. So I can understand why he came down here himself' The receptionist thought as she could already imagine the number of security guards that would have surrounded the entire lobby if it were another person.
'And now that I think about it like that, I envy Mis Charlotte since she would be having such a man to herself' She thought once more as she snuck a peek at Lucien, taking in his calm expression as she tried to remember his attractive face in case she comes along it again.
It would be a shame if she suddenly forgets them. Who knows, she might someday get the chance to be his mistress.
The receptionist's thoughts began to run wild as her expression became blank with various vulgar thoughts swirling around in her head.
"Excuse me miss" Lucien said as he noticed the blank expression on the receptionist's face.
He had already prepared a getaway plan if his current plan had failed.
So seeing the reception suddenly going blank for a second made him wary as he called out for her attention once again.
"Ahem...Ahemm!!" The receptionist cleared her voice as she said.
"Don't worry about a thing Mr Philip. I have already alerted the chief security officer and he should be here in a minute".
"Oh! Thank you then. Doing this makes it much easier" Lucien replied with a subtly smile on his lips.
"Yes, of course. I am well aware of how urgent the matter is to you. So it would be better if we caught the culprit that disrupted your marriage proposal to Miss Charlotte" The receptionist replied seriously.
"After all the more time we delay, the more time the culprit gets to escape".
"Yes you're right" Lucien replied as he nodded his head seriously.
"So how long would it take for the Chief security officer to get here" He added.
"He will be here in some few minutes sir".
"Alright" Lucien nodded his head in understanding before saying "Why don't you call me Mr Philip. Considering that you've made things much easier for me, it's the least that I could do".
"Thank you, sir. But I think that you should reserve your praise for the Star-shine hotel itself. After all, we were taught to welcome our guests and make them comfortable as though it was their home" The receptionist said as she soon her head in disapproval.
"Haha..of course, you are right. But that should only apply when we are in the star shine hotel. After all, would you still address me the same way if we were to see each other outside this hotel" Lucien laughed gently as he responded.
"Yes, you are. But I will still have no problems addressing you as Mr Philip outside of this hotel. After all, you are still the son of Mr Bastien. Ceo of Benoit inc",
"Oh! You sure do know a lot".
"Of course, all these things are still basic information about you. And since our establishment usually caters to the rich the most influential people in France, so we are always asked to memorize their faces to avoid making mistakes when dealing with them".
At this point, it was Lucien who was feeling the time pass slowly as he waited for the Chief security officer.
Because the more time he spends with her, the more his chances of getting caught increase.
"So how did you manage to know it was me, considering that I haven't been in France for the past two years. And I am sure that my face hasn't been on any magazines for a while now " Lucien asked with raised brows.
"Have you been stalking me?"
"N-No I h-haven't" The receptionist paused before stuttering out as she replied.
"You see not everybody knows about Miss Charlotte Durand's birthday party and considering that the party was supposed to take off without any problems, we were all informed about it".
Lucien nodded as he narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
"But that still doesn't answer my question" Lucien replied.
"Or don't tell me that you just trusted my words after I had told you that I was Philip Benoit" He asked as he stared at the receptionist curiously.
"I did. But I have also come around some few instances of your name in the magazines' The lady merely bowed her head in resignation as she responded.
"Okay. You might be right this time, but that doesn't mean that you won't be wrong tomorrow. It isn't safe for someone in your position to go around trusting people blindly" Lucien responded as he corrected her actions.
Well, not that he was complaining, because it was because of this that he would be able to find which floor his culprits were on.
And besides, he was a huntsman looking for some group of monsters. So that meant that his actions were justified.
But that couldn't be said for others who would readily exploit such a trait.
After all, the world was as good as it was evil.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you for the advice Mr Philip" The receptionist responded with a warm smile on her lips as she thanked God that she hadn't declined the request of such a gentleman
