Meanwhile, Lucien who knew nothing about the events currently taking place in the abandoned building that he had set ablaze was currently in a taxi as he made his way towards the Starshine hotel.
The Starshine hotel is one of the top hotels in Paris, which is only second to the Crimson fall hotel in terms of popularity and rank.
And although he would have loved to make a detour to the nearest supermarket to see if he could make preparations for the upcoming dangers that he was about to face.
But due to his financial shortcomings at the moment, he decided to abandon that idea and just hopes that he easily adapts to the dangers that he will be confronting.
And although he did have an inkling of what kind of entities the wolves of France might be.
But he decided to prepare his mind for any situation that he might find himself in since a name can be given to anyone or anything with or without a reason.
But if it were the humanoid beast that only reveals its true form in the presence of moonlight, then this night would be a very long one.
"Excuse me, please can I know what time it is" Lucien asked the taxi driver that was currently taking him to his destination.
"Ummm!!… It's 8: 30 monsieur" The driver replied as he checked his watch after a momentary pause.
"It's still too early, according to the invitation card, it said that the party would be starting around 11 pm' Lucien thought as he saw that there was plenty of time left.
'Any way that's a good thing nevertheless. It only means that I get to arrive at the scene early….Maybe now I will be able to figure out what happened'.
"Can you please go faster?" Lucien said as he saw that the car wasn't gaining any speed.
"I am sorry monsieur, but this is the fastest I can go. Any more than this is above my speed limit" The driver replied with his eyes still focussing on the road.
"And there has been a lot of accidents lately, and that has made the road unsafe for anyone recently. But worry not monsieur, I will surely get you to your destination on time".
Lucien could only sigh in resignation as he didn't find any faults in the driver's words.
But if he had known that it was going to be like this, then he would have used his legs to run over there by himself.
But he also didn't want to risk his presence being known by jumping from roof to roof because surely, that would attract the attention of someone whether they were monsters or humans.
And since he didn't know the number of monsters that he would be dealing with, he decided to avoid taking any risk for now.
Because whether he liked to admit it or not, without his equipment, he didn't feel as reassured as before.
"Well, it's not as though I have no other choice of figuring out what happened yesterday than this" Lucien said.
"Did you say something monsieur?" The driver asked as his ears had caught Lucien's voice.
"No, You might have misheard" Lucien responded as the driver nodded his head in response.
"By the way, how long before we arrive" Lucien asked because the ride from the rue de Jaques to the rue de Matthieu where Starshine hotel is located was only supposed to be a ten-minute ride.
But they had already consumed 16 minutes on the roads because of the traffic and the police checkpoints.
If things are like this when it was only 8: 30 pm, then he couldn't have imagined what the traffic might have looked like in the morning when people were on their way to their various workplaces.
"We will soon be there in the next five minutes monsieur* The driver replied.
Lucien didn't respond, but he merely slumped back into his seat as he looked outside the windows watching the moving vehicles as they sped across the road.
Unbeknownst to Lucien who had taken the opportunity to just enjoy the rest of the ride, six minutes had passed when he heard the driver's voice ringing in his ears.
"We are here monsieur"
Paying the driver his money, Lucien stepped out of the car and was immediately greeted with the marvellous sight of the 5- star hotel, Hotel Starshine.
The building itself is a sky scrapper with over 41 floors, filled with grandiose and unforgettable services that are only reserved for the wealthy.
A place which he is about to infiltrate. But first…
Lucien looked at the wealthy cars and well-dressed clothes of the various men and women as they entered through the wide gates, while their car keys were handed over to the valet attendants immediately after they arrived at the entrance of the hotel.
Lucien looked at the men in various nice suits and couldn't help but take a good look at himself.
Because what he wore at the moment was only a jean and a black T-shirt that looked inexpensive and wasn't even well suited for such a grandeur occasion.
'I will need to find where I can get some nice clothes at the moment' Lucien thought as he quietly found a spot under a tree shade that would enable him to easily survey his surroundings while he looked around for opportunities.
"Hunk!" "Hunk!!"
"Shut it down! Can't you see that you aren't the only ones in line" A man shouted through his front door glass as he stretched his head out to glare at the car behind him.
"Hunk!!" "Hunk!!!"
But the driver didn't stop pressing against his car horn as a voice was heard along with it.
"Why don't you shut up and move it. And besides, how could you come to such a party without a date. Don't tell me you couldn't find a woman to accompany you?" The driver said as he laughed at his obvious joke.
