I looked up from my box at my sister. She had the babbling baby on her waist as she looked down at me. "Hey," I said back as I went back to putting stuff, "Thought you were still at the pack house?"
My room was in disarray, I had completely turned it upside down looking for essentials. I would be staying in the everglades for at least a month, after which I would have to return to lyzia for training.
"I got your message," she said and sat on my bed, the baby fussed so she let her down and she crawled to my side. Flashing a toothless smile at me which I reciprocated with a toothed one. She giggled and used my body for support as she climbed staggeringly to her feet. "So you're really leaving with…him?"
I nodded. Her voice wasn't shaky so it wasn't like she was sad or anything. I would break down crying if she started. "Yeah." I dropped the shirt I was folding into my box and turned to her, still sitting on the ground so I had to look up at her.
