Chapter 13 - Quite Haughty

"Where's the dress, Sally?" Yuri asked hurriedly after she was sure about what she was feeling. It was undeniable that it was the same emotion that swirled within her in that forest that encompassed her right now. She knew that the person she had met that night was somewhere near the gate leading into the palace.

However, Yuri also knew that that would be dangerous for the creature as she knew that the palace grounds would be swarming with guards who would be out to get any wolf-like creature -- which she knew that person was. And Yuri felt somewhat protective over the creature that she hadn't even officially met or knew. That alone was utterly confusing to her but it was something that the princess could not help.

She was beginning to get herself together and the pressure of needing to get out there was building up within her -- getting stronger as the moments passed by. Yuri felt stronger now even though the site of the wound was still bleeding as she could see the bandage around it which was fresh before now stained with blood. Still, Yuri didn't care one bit about that.

"Here, my princess, " Sally responded as she carefully laid the dress on Yuri's bed and went ahead to fetch her a washbowl and a clean, fresh towel to wipe after washing up.

Yuri got dressed and as she was wearing a sandal with little heels, both she and her maid heard a knock on her door. They looked at each other as they both wondered who must be at the door at this time.

Yuri knew that Sally had not informed anyone that she had woken up so who was at her door now? She was in no mood to entertain any guests so as not to get delayed as she wanted to be out there as soon as possible. Yuri didn't want to miss the chance of meeting with the creature that she had met in the forest. She wanted to see how he looked like a man and had so much fur on him at the same time. The thought of meeting with him filled her with a feeling akin to excitement, but it wasn't that in particular -- at least not yet.

The knock came again and Sally waited for permission from the princess before she would do anything as she stared into the princess' face. When Yuri nodded her approval, Sally got up and went to the door.

"Who is it?" she asked as she leaned toward the door waiting for a response with her ear placed at an angle to listen in.

The guard stationed outside the princess' door replied; "Sir Tyran and Sir Fish are here to see the princess."

Yuri gnashed her teeth and rolled her eyes. Of all the people to come to see her, her father had sent these two yet again. When would he stop doing that? When? Yuri asked herself. She had told him several times of her particular dislike for the both of them but he would alays ignore her, telling her that she needed to work on her temperament. Yuri saw that as arrant bullcrap.

She looked at the window and wished that she could fly away from there. Maybe she would have to consider building some secret passageway for herself for times like these -- when she didn't want to see certain bastards.

Sally slowly turned around knowing that the people at the door were the princess' least favorite people. She couldn't even begin to imagine how the conversation that was about to go down would end -- especially with Yuri hurrying to go to wherever she wanted to go.

"Should I allow them in?" Sally asked with a little trembling in her voice.

The knock came again. "Argh," Yuri let out, "it is not like they would go... they're like flies, those two."

"Princess..." Sally called out with a hushed tone."They will hear you."

Yuri just shrugged. That was what she even wanted.

Sally opened the door and the two big bellied men walked in with an air of the 'high and mighty' about them. Yuri was irked and stared at them with disgust evident on her face as she looked at them from their heads to their toes. They had always looked unflattering to her -- even since she was a kid she had thought so.

"You're awake, my dear princess," Sir Tyran said.

"We thank the stars for that," Sir Fish said as well.

The whole place fell silent as the men expected the princess to reply to their statements or to say anything at least. But nothing was uttered by Yuri. She just stood with her head held high and her fingers intertwined in front of her as if waiting for them to turn around and leave her chambers.

About fifteen seconds passed and the situation in Yuri's chambers was quite awkward as they were all looking at each other. Yuri even began tapping her feet on the floor impatiently.

Sir Tyran spoke fist. He was always the one to speak first and Fish was like a follower.

"Your father sent us to-"

"With zero due respect, Sir Tyran, I would like to be on my way right now," Yuri said. "I should have left here like twenty minutes ago."
