Shea's hand trembled as she cut the phone. She was surprised and put a disbelief look on her face.
Reid... Reid was kidnapped!
*Ringing* The phone rang but there was no news of Shea. She was still in her place in disbelief.
She would have never thought that the person whom she despised the most, as she had always thought that he abandoned her, was actually kidnapped!
*Ringing*
He is the reason Shea's belief in love was broken and she gave up on her love and married the cold-blooded Alpha! She was ready to give up on everything yet he disappeared from her life when she needed him, his support the most.
She looked at the phone, tears in her eyes. Her heart thumped loud and she was breathless. The phone was continuously ringing but her mind was busy reminiscing about her past intimate times. How lovely those innocent memories were for her! It was full of love yet hate for him as she couldn't forget the fact that she was abandoned. It was heartbreaking for her. Finally, on the ninth call, she picked the phone up.
"Am I speaking to Miss. Shea?"
"Hmm... you are..." She replied coldly as if all her emotions were snatched from her and she just waited for the main business.
"Miss. Did you have an intimate relationship with Mr. Reid?"
"I had... 5 years ago..." Her voice was still devoid of sentiments but her eyes were shining with tears. She held herself strongly.
"We found Mr. Reid in the Kota Factory today..."
"Kota Factory?", she asked with suspicion. Kota Factory is near the market, where people can't possibly be kidnapped for so long. How could she not suspect?
"Are you sure...?" She asked them suspiciously.
The police on the phone sighed, "We are also trying to figure out where he was kidnapped but..."
The police stopped talking midway, growing her curiosity.
"He has lost his memories..."
"Huh? What did you say? Please repeat it! Is it true?" She was genuinely worried about him. There is a saying, First Love, Family, and True Friends are hard to forget. For her, Reid was both his First Love and her true friend, a best friend for her lonely self. Panic captivates her at the news.
"We need your help...", the voice sounded pleading and genuine.
"I am ready to help if it's something I am capable of! May I know what it is?", she spoke with confidence.
"He only remembers his memories from 5 years back... I can only ask for your help as he is an orphan and also... He wishes to have your company...", The police stopped, noticing her hitch at it.
She was confused about what to do now. What will she do, now that she knows that she didn't get abandoned by him, he just got in an accident... Kidnapped? She didn't wish to give up her well-crafted life for her beloved anymore, she understood that it would do her no good. She has become a lot more mature now and she believed that there are things more important than love, it's Family. She can't abandon her child, her family anymore. She had to make the right choice for herself.
"Miss...", the pleading voice echoed along with the soft giggle. She knew for sure that those sweet giggles could only belong to Reid.
"Hee hee hee, My girlfriend is angry with me cause I didn't take care of myself well! hee hee". She remembered how she used to pull his ears and beat him if he didn't take good care of himself.
He was still the same, cute and sweet yet she had changed so much, a lot more mature and that changed many things in her life. She understood the world better. She became more responsible, knew how to face and choose decisions, and understood the consequences of the choices. She wondered when and where her innocent and childish behavior went. Maybe it was already lost when Reid was gone from her life.
He was a scaredy-cat back in the days. She felt pity about how much he had to suffer these years. It was a sad thing to happen but she didn't feel much about it.
She thought a lot before coming to a final decision.
'It's just a duty of a friend and also it would be good if the criminals are rather prisoned.' It gave her the justification for aiding him.
"I will help you...", she said before cutting the phone. But, she wasn't aware of what to help at all.

The whole day kept her busy. How could she break the news to him that it has already been 5 years and she had already been married? It has been many years since they met, she couldn't figure out how awkward it would be for her. He is still the same though, without any worries. Her fear wasn't that he would be awkward, but she hoped that he wouldn't make her awkward because of their past. The memories of 5 years ago were fresh to him, while it has already been buried in dust for Shea. She would have forgotten him if she didn't get the call today. As for love… She did or maybe she still does love him but it's hard for her to realize her own emotions that she started to hide and ignore long ago.
She still remembers though, when she didn't get any news from Reid, how devastated she was, How much she cried from night till Morning... Also, how she stopped believing in 'love'. That's when she got married to Edgar… Edgar Roman, the famous Alpha known for his good lead and tyranny to other tribes. There are many cities he destroyed to build up his Empire. He had many enemies but he had a lot more supporters. She was his Mate, She never wanted to get married to this man who never hitched on killing someone but it wasn't a choice for her. There were no emotional feelings attached to their marriage. It was only nominal. It should be God's will for her to be his mate otherwise, their city would be like the cities that were destroyed. She didn't like him nor did she despise him. She doesn't understand him at all and she doesn't want to understand him either. For her, he was an unapproachable and unyielding man.
After all the thinking she did, she gave up on how to break the news to him but now, she was invited with a new problem, 'What should she say to her Husband?'. Her thoughts already diverted from Reid to her Husband and the more she thought about it, the more she was afraid that she would be killed by him before he even listened to her.
They never had a perfect couple relationship with each other but they are pretty friendly and also respect each other's decisions. She doesn't wish to break the trust that they built up in the three years of their marriage because of some dirty rumors. It isn't hard for others to be nosy in others' relationships, let alone spread rumors!
She sighed and looked up at the wall as she saw the clock which was ticking fast. She had to see the sweet boy once today, no matter what.
