Chapter 6 - Bracelet and Darkness 1

The door knob being turned alerted Leah that someone was about to enter the room. She panicked and quickly shoved the bracelet inside her pajama pocket.

The door opened fully, showing her cousin Julianne. Her cousin was also in her PJs, her blonde hair was packed in a long ponytail, her matching strawberry colored PJs made her look like a cute teenager which was far from the truth.

" Mind explaining what you are doing in Madisyn's room, Leah?", Julianne asked as she crossed her hands below her full breasts waiting for the twelve year old to answer.

" Only if you are willing to explain what you are doing here as well", Leah said shoving her two hands in her pajama pockets trying to look like she had the situation under control but she knew better.

Julianne eyed the small brat who was prone to getting into trouble. Her Raven black hair which was done in a pixie cut made her look both sassy and flashy, her black eyes, small pink lips, pale flawless skin and slim body added to her beauty.

If she could look like this at twelve, there was no saying she wouldn't look more magnificent at her coming ages.

" Well I came here to see if Maddie was in her room, don't you find it weird that she hasn't made dinner yet?", Julianne asked the little one who just shrugged with her hands still in her pocket.

" I can't blame her, she always make dinner, if it's not her, then it's my mom, surely you have to make dinner some day, I had burger so I am not hungry, you should order pizza because you and the kitchen, will be a big mistake", Leah said emphasizing on the big as she walked past Julianne towards her own room.

Once in her room, she shut the door tightly, bringing out the bracelet. She would have to keep it back eventually but she couldn't stop herself. Remember the last time, she had mistaken the darkness that had engulfed her to be a momentary imagination.

It was no longer that as it happened two to three times before stopping. No matter how many times she wore the bracelet, it wouldn't show more than that darkness. Was this some sort of special bracelet and if it was, how did it end up with her cousin?

She sat on her pink large bed as she looked out the window which showed the dark sky interpreting that it was late in the evening. Staring at the bracelet once more she shoved it aside causing it to bounce on her bed.

She touched the bed with her right hand when she immediately got transferred into an unknown world.

She felt suffocated, gasping for air, to be let free, she finally fell unconscious, falling right on the bed.

" I've got the witch, she will be coming by midnight, she says she doesn't want to be seen", Camille said as she approached the young man sitting on the brown comfortable couch in the living room currently reading a newspaper.

The wide living room was designed in dark brown paint letting it look very dark and boring. Its only source of light being the yellow wall lights placed up on each wall.

Two couches surrounded the young man including a glass table in the middle. His legs were crossed as his eyes focused on the newspaper he seemed to be so much giving attention to.

" Do you plan on leaving your hair this way?", she asked him as she sat next to him wanting to touch his brown attractive hair. He quickly caught her hand with a fierce look on his face before it instantly changed to a smile.

He stared at her Jade green eyes which were staring at him in fake lust. It has indeed been two whole days since he was inside her. He dropped her hand as he went back to stare at the newspaper, he couldn't understand why the news in this town was always this boring no matter how he spiced it up. Everyone deserves to know there is a murderer in town.

Camille rested her back on the edge of the chair, pushing her black hair aside, she bent her body to draw closer to Liam, he turned sideways to look at her with a smile on his face.

" Camille....", he called out in a bored way and that had the green eyed girl flaring. " What is wrong with you Liam? I mean I did as you asked, why are you acting like you are so tired of seeing my face, I mean I never did anything wrong", she argued spacing herself from him.

" I hate it when guilty people act innocent Camille", he said out of the blue with his smile still on his face.

"Let me put in much better sentence Camille, who did you sell me out to?", he asked before she could speak as he watched every expression on her face.

Her pupils widened before going back to being small. " Liam, I have been your girlfriend for two whole weeks, how can I betray you, not to think of the fact that you compelled me not to", she exclaimed but quickly realized that her quickness to answer, her unsettled heartbeat and the invisible heat easily gave her away.

She gulped down her saliva as Liam smiled deviously at her, she was finished alright.

Julianne sat on her favorite couch of all the couches in the living room. It was green, large and comfy. The box of pizza she had ordered sat next to her right on the couch, the TV remote was in her left hand, a pizza slice in her right and her eyes glued to the TV screen as she watched the drama unfolding on TV.

Just then, the door opened and closed shut with the sound of approaching footsteps. She unglued her eyes from the TV screen to stare at the person who just walked in and her grey eyes met with soft brown ones, Maddie's.

Before she could turn her head away like she always did, the girl started heading towards her not forgetting to hold her gaze which was the most daring thing her docile sister had ever done.

" Hey", Maddie said stopping her footsteps once she reached where Julianne was seated. A frown came to settle on the blonde's pretty features which was what always happened whenever Maddie took her time to say something to her.

" I was hoping you would come with me to visit Mom and Dad's grave tomorrow. It's been a long time since you and I visited them together", Maddie spoke in a soft voice knowing fully well that she was treading on a thin wire here.

Julianne's features softened at the mention of their late parents but when she looked back up at Maddie, she frowned once again. " I'll go alone thank you, I'm not a kid alright, I know the way", she said and waved her hands as if chasing Maddie away.

" I said together Julie and...", Maddie started speaking only to be cut short by Julie's hateful glare.

" Count me out dear sister of anything that has to be done together, as in with you. I didn't kill our parents, you did, I wasn't an orphan until you came and tagged me along. Don't you see anything done with you ends up going worse, so stop insisting because it won't change anything", Julianne queried, walking out of the living room without her her box of pizza, she didn't have the appetite anymore.

Maddie picked it up from the couch and walked right into the kitchen, tossing it on the kitchen cabinet, she saw it was just one slice of pizza left, her Julianne was still a glutton, her Julianne, her little sister.

She took the remaining slice as she ate it bit by bit trying to toss away the feeling of loneliness enveloping inside her heart. This wasn't the first time Julianne had said something so hurtful, but it always hurt everytime she did say something like this.

It was sad enough that she became an orphan twice but saying it was all her fault made it seem like there was no hope for her to ever be happy.

She stared at the movie airing on TV and just focused her attention there instead. Brenda would be back any moment so she would wait.
